Distractions

~Chapter 17~

"Miss girl. Where have you been? I was so close to reporting you as missing."
"I told you already, I had a sleepover with my girl friends."
"I'm telling you, that is the last time I'm letting a thing like that slide. Let me know prior to you disappearing."
"I will, I'm sorry dad."
Her dad sighed, nodded, then walked towards his room.
"I'm going to sleep."
"Ok..."

Poor dad. He probably couldn't sleep because of my stupid ass.

Hyejin walked up to her room feeling down until she thought of Jungsoo. She went on her bed and picked up her phone to text him.

Hyejin smiled to herself. She grabbed her pillow and yelled in it,
"WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE HIMMM?!" She kicked her legs and screamed.

Fast forward a few months. It's around Christmas time. The couple didn't have any bad conflicts yet.
Haewon approached Hyejin during lunch one day. She was with Seonmin since Jungsoo had to go somewhere.

"Hey! How come you're avoiding me?" Haewon asked innocently.
"Huh? Oh.. Uh.." Hyejin debated on what to say.
"Scram. She doesn't need any more friends." Seonmin had his best friend's back.
"Seonmin, don't be rude!" Hyejin didn't want to judge Haewon like she judged Jungsoo in the beginning. Haewon sarcastically smiled and her and Minnie sat in front of them.
"So. What're you doing this Christmas?" Minnie smiled at Hyejin.
"I don't really have plans yet. I mean, other than my Christmas dinner..." She awkwardly laughed.
"You know what," Haewon quickly looked at Minnie, "You should totally come to the party we're throwing on Christmas Eve!" She looked at Seonmin. "You could bring your little friend too." Seonmin eyed her as if he was planning her murder.
"I don't know..." Hyejin was unsure.
"Cmon, it'll be fun!"
"Hyejin, I don't trust them," Seonmin looked at Haewon and Minnie suspiciously.
"Nonsense. I don't see why not. I'll see you there!"

Winter break had finally come. It was the day of the party. Hyejin was still deciding if she should go.
