Distractions

~Chapter 6~

"Why do I have teachers calling me telling me that you SKIPPED YOUR CLASSES? I HAVE AT LEAST THREE TEACHERS TELLING ME THAT!" Hyejin's dad yelled at her. She ignored him, went upstairs to her room and slammed the door. She locked the door behind her. She went into her bathroom to shower when she caught herself crying.
And I'm crying for what? I don't even know him-

She got out the shower when she heard a knock on the door. She goes to unlock it. It's her dad.
"Hyejin what happened? This isn't like you."
"It's nothing, it's nothing." Hyejin lied.
"You know you can tell me anything, right?"
"I know- It really is nothing. I just had a bad day."
"Alright..but stop skipping your classes."
"I won't, it was just a one time thing."

Jungsoo drove straight home which wasn't like him. He was always either hanging out with his friends or out to cause some trouble until it was late at night. His friends texted him but he ignored them. He grabbed a bottle of whisky from his dad's drink collection then walked to his room and slammed the door.
Jungsoo drunk all night to let out his anger and frustration.

During free period the next day, Haewon ran into Jungsoo in a staircase. She noticed he wasn't approaching that girl all day, so she decided to go for it.
"Hey, you miss me?" Haewon smiled while walking towards him. Jungsoo sarcastically thought then said,
"Hmm...not really."
"Oh come on...I told you a million times I never liked him! That night meant nothing, I only want you.." Haewon walked over to him and touched his chest.

Hyejin walked into the staircase to get to the rooftop then saw them. She laughed to herself in disbelief.
A fuckboy indeed. A man thot is what he is.
She walked out quietly so they wouldn't notice her and then went to another staircase to get to the roof.

A few weeks passed and they still were avoiding each other. Hyejin and Seonmin were walking to school. Seonmin noticed Jungsoo wasn't bothering Hyejin as usual, so he asked her,
"So what's up with you and Jungsoo?"
"Who?"
"You're gonna act like you don't know who he is now?"
"Never heard of him."
Seonmin laughed as they continued to walk to school.

It was time to go to lunch and Haewon was going to approach him like usual ever since Hyejin and Jungsoo stopped talking, but that day he looked at her then walked away.
Did he not see me?

Hyejin was walking to the roof when Jungsoo caught her at the staircase.
"Can we talk?"
Hyejin ignored him and kept walking up the stairs. Jungsoo ran up in front of her to block her.
"Move out my way, Jungsoo."
"Can we talk? Please?"
Hyejin glared at him then pushed passed him to get to the roof. He followed behind her.
"Look I didn't mean that I just wanted you for sex," Jungsoo stated, walking towards her. Hyejin was at the edge of the roof looking down at the view. She acted like nobody was there. Silence.

"Hyejin LOOK AT ME. I'M TIRED OF YOU IGNORING ME."
Hyejin turns around and looks at him wondering who he's yelling at.
"And who the FUCK are you yelling at?"
"Just LISTEN to me. PLEASE." He walked closer to her until they were standing face to face.
"I don't want you only for sex. I actually LIKE you. And...I want to get to know you."
"Right. I'm assuming you said the same thing to that girl you're always with?"
"Who?"
Hyejin glared at him then looked back down at the view. Jungsoo turned her around.
"Who?"

Haewon saw Jungsoo with that girl again so she decided to follow him and eavesdrop. She reached the entrance of the roof.

"That girl who's always walking up to you."
"Haewon? I don't like her-"

Haewon gasped quietly, backed up then ran back down the stairs, tears running down her face.
Why does everything have to change? He liked me before school started... Ugh I have to get rid of that bitch.

"You seemed like you didn't mind her company, though."
"C'mon don't be like this.."
"Like what? Oh right, sorry. It's not my place to ask who she is."
"Please... Talk to me."

Hyejin sighed. She stared at him for a while.
"I haven't been with anybody yet. And my dad always warned me about boys who play with females just for intercourse-" she continues, "I thought you just wanted to be sweet and take me somewhere but then you started touching me.." Her voice weakened. "Ontop of that you have another girl following you around." She felt a tear run down her face.
Always crying at the wrong moments. Great job Hyejin. She thought to herself.
"Fuck," Hyejin said. She wiped it as fast as she could.
Jungsoo pulls her in for a hug.
"I'm sorry." He apologizes. Hyejin sobs into his chest.
Maybe this bet was a bad idea...
He held her for a moment.
"How about.." Jungsoo pulls away and looks her in the eyes, "We go on an actual date and get to know each other."
"But what about Haewon?"
"I don't like her, trust me."
Hyejin smiles weakly and agrees.
"But not right now. I promised my dad I wouldn't skip anymore." Hyejin tells him.
"What about Friday after school?"
"Alright."

It was dismissal and Hyejin walks home with Seonmin to tell him everything.
"Did my Hyejin finally find a boyfriend???"
Hyejin laughed and punched his arm.
"It's not like that.."
"Not yet..." he winked.

Hyejin finally reached home, said bye, greeted her family, then went upstairs. She decided to save Jungsoo's number.
