Distractions

~Chapter 4~

Hyejin rolled her eyes then continued her homework.
Wait... how'd he get my number??
She picked up her phone again.

Infuriated, she called Seonmin. He picks up right away.
"Hey-"
"Who told you you could give him my number?"
"Girl he was cute, I felt like you deserved it."
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN-"
"Keep it down Hyejin!!!" Her father shouts from down the hall.
"What the hell do you mean I deserved it?!" She yell whispers.
"You know he's like the most popular boy at school, right? Why didn't you tell me he was the one you were talking about?"
"I didn't even know his name..." Hyejin realized. "Well...I'm gonna go do some homework now- I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay nerd. Bye!"
She hangs up and overthinks the whole situation.
I knew girls were always gossiping about him but I didn't know he was the most popular boy..Wait why does that matter? He's an asshole! But a boy? Showing interest in me?
She eventually finishes her homework then falls asleep.

Haewon walked home with Minnie. The whole time Jungsoo and "that girl" was on her mind.
Does he like her or something? Why'd he ignore me this morning but then pulled her to him during lunch...

The next day, Hyejin decided to go to school early. She gets ready, grabs toast with cream cheese and heads out.
She gets to school and waits in her homeroom.
"Hyejin."
Confused, she looks up to see.. fuckboy.
I thought I was the only one here...
Hyejin gets up to leave as Jungsoo walks up to her. She backs up until she hits a wall.
"How many times do I-"
"Shh..." Jungsoo cuts her off and puts a finger to her lips. Hyejin had serious butterflies. Jungsoo smiles.
"You're blushing."
She looks away. Jungsoo moves her head, making her look into his eyes.
"I know you want me." He leans in and-
"Hyejin."
Why aren't you kissing me..?
"Hyejin!"
"HYEJIN!"
Hyejin wakes up startled and bangs her head on the wall behind her.
"SHIT!" She wakes up to Jungsoo right in front of her face. She pushes him right away.
"Finally you're up. You're sitting at my desk, ma'am," Jungsoo said, waiting for her to get up. Her stomach had butterflies, remembering her dream. She tries to speak.
"O-oh.. right-" She quickly switches her seat. He smiles at her.
I'm gonna win you over.

It was time for lunch and Seonmin never showed up to school. She decides to text him.

Hyejin sighs and walks to the lunchroom. She immediately spotted two girls glaring at her but she just did not have the energy to worry about them right then. She gets her food and sits down at an empty table. She decided to study since she had nothing else to do. She suddenly heard somebody sit next to her. She looks over and it's no other than Jung Jungsoo. Hyejin heard whispers all around as he never really sat with girls at lunch.
"Is that his new girlfriend?" Minnie asks.
"I don't understand how he could move on just like that!" Haewon said, about to lose it.
Hyejin sighs and gets ready to shoo him away when he stops her before she speaks.
"Let's skip."
"What?" Hyejin looked disgusted.
"Let's skip school for the rest of the day," Jungsoo said. "I have somewhere I want to take you."
"And what makes you think I'd agree to go with you?"
"I'll buy you food."
Hyejin was about to say no when Jungsoo grabbed her hand and practically dragged her out. The whispers turned into gasps. When they reached outside of the cafeteria, Hyejin pulled away.
"What the hell are you doing?"
She begins to walk back to the lunchroom when Jungsoo grabs her waist.
Oh my God. Right after that dream too chile-
"Let's go." He slides his hand from her waist...to her hand. He tries to intertwine their fingers but Hyejin pulls away.
"I'll go with you but you're not holding my hand, doofus."
Jungsoo smiled.
Haewon followed them out of the cafeteria and saw the whole thing. She watched them walk out the school from the entrance of the lunchroom with Minnie beside her. Haewon watched with hatred in her eyes and her arms crossed.
