Hyejin struggled to wake up. Her eyes felt heavy as she tried to see her surroundings. She tries to move her head, resulting to a sharp pain in her neck. She groans.
"Honey?"
Hyejin tried to sit up.
"Dad?"
"Don't move, you'll hurt yourself. How are you feeling?"
"I'm..my neck..What happened?"
"You for some reason ended up in the middle of the road, half an hour away from home. Don't think too much though, rest."
Hyejin tried to process where she was right then. Then she remembered...
"Jung...Where is Jungsoo??"
"Who?"
The nurse came in hearing Hyejin call the name Jungsoo.
"She's up, I see." The nurse put the back of her hand on Hyejin's forehead.
"Jungsoo..." She kept repeating. The nurse looked Hyejin's dad seeing the confused expression on his face.
"That's probably the boy who brought her here."
"Boy??? Hyejin?!"
"Shhh don't work up her nerves she needs to stay calm."
Hyejin eyes widened for a moment.
"What day is it today?"
"Jan-"
"JANUARY?" Hyejin lifted up her head quickly then dropped her head right back down like it was dead weight.
"Careful. You've been in a semi coma for less than 1 month. That's actually great in your case, you should be walking fine by the end of February."
Hyejin stayed still and silently sobbed.~~~
Days passed and she was functioning fine. She couldn't walk yet, though. Her best friend visited her.
"Seonmin!" Her eyes fell on him at the doorway. He looked emotional then walked towards her
"I told you not to go to the damn party.." He hugged her.
"I know.. I'm sorry.."
Seonmin pulled away from the hug.
"You had me worried sick when you wouldn't answer my texts."
"Wait, where's my phone??"
Seonmin pointed to the table across the room.
"Can you-"
"I'll get it for you🙄."
"Thank you😌."She turned on her phone to see missed calls and texts from Seonmin, her dad, and...none from Jungsoo. She furrowed her eyebrows and looked at Seonmin.
"Where's Jungsoo?"
Seonmin stared at her and sighed.
"You should stop thinking about him. He's not worth it."
"What did he do??" Hyejin's heart dropped. Seonmin stayed silent. A tear ran down her face. "Seonmin..Seonmin tell me. Seonmin TELL ME WHAT DID HE DO?!"~~~
By the time she fully recovered, she missed Valentine's day and Jungsoo's birthday. It was March and her own birthday was coming up. But she wasn't thrilled, as Jungsoo kept ignoring her. She spent her birthday with her family. She decided to focus on her studies from then on, as her last report card wasn't looking great. She restored her relationship with Seonmin and he helped her recover from her heart break.
One day, Seonmin called in sick. Hyejin decided to spend her lunch at the roof. It did remind her of Jungsoo but she needed the peace. However, as soon as she opened the door to the roof, she spotted Jungsoo looking sad and Haewon cheering him up by caressing his face.
Men are vicious.
She slammed the door so they could hear that somebody saw them, then went back to the classrooms. It's been this way for months. (I mean like he's been ignoring Hyejin and seeing Haewon for months😹)~~~
Fast forward. It's now summertime.
It was the day of the camping trip.
"Dad! I'm going now!"
"Are all your bags packed? Did you get your toothbrush? What about your-"
"Dad! Stop worrying, everything is prepared."
"Be careful. Okay? And no sneaking in the boys camping tents!"
"DAD..." Hyejin rolled her eyes. She kissed Jinae goodbye, then her dad.
"There won't be any service at the camping site but the school will obviously find a way to contact you if anything happens. I love you, see you in a week!" She waved and headed out the door.
She met up with Seonmin.
"Finally! Camping," Hyejin laughed.
"Imagine all the bugs though🤢."
"It's only you Seonmin🙄."~~~
They finally arrived at the bus. There were four busses, separating the senior grade by their homeroom.
"Fuck I don't get to sit next to you🙁," Seonmin looked at the assigned seats paper. Hyejin sighed.
"I guess I'll see you at the site?"
"Yeah, I'll catch you later." They hugged and walked toward their busses. Hyejin started to get anxiety when she remembered Jungsoo was in her homeroom class. She put her suitcases and bags where they were supposed to go then got into the bus. The papers they received hadn't told the students who they were next to, only where they were assigned to sit. Hyejin's seat was near the back in the window sweat so that's where she sat. She stared at the window waiting for the bus to start. Then she saw Jungsoo approach the bus through the window. Her heart dropped. He hugged Haewon since she was for some reason assigned on another bus. He got in the bus. He was looking at his paper while he got closer and closer to Hyejin. The closer he got, the worse her anxiety got. He finally looked up and at the seat next her. He sat down and apparently didn't notice Hyejin. Meanwhile Hyejin could not breathe. The whole bus was loud except for Hyejin and Jungsoo. It was dead silent.~~~
Hyejin started to calm down and she eventually got tired.
I swear on everything if I fall asleep and my fat head falls on his shoulder it's going to be a problem...
Her eyelids were getting heavier until she eventually gave in and her head found Jungsoo's shoulder. Jungsoo stopped breathing when he felt her head. He glanced at his shoulder then looked back forward with his eyes wide open.
