Now here we were, walking under a beautiful array of trees, viewing leaves which had turned orange. We were silent with each other, letting the wind speak.
But I thought I'd like to start a conversation.
"Jay-"
"I-"
We stared at each other for a moment, then chuckled.
"You first." Jayden said.
"No, it's not a big deal."
"Oh come on, spill it out."
"I don't even know what I will say. Believe me."
"Okay."
"O-okay?" Just okay? I thought he wanted to say something.
Jayden nodded innocently. "Why?"
"Don't you wanna say something?"
"Huh? No, I don't."
I let out a sigh. Do you know what I wished? I wished he would say romantic words. Ugh silly!
"Just kidding." He put his arms around my shoulder.
"I wanna ask something... Would you wait for me?"
"What for?" I asked back. His question sounded annoying, did it?
"If someday I leave you, will you wait for me?"
I chuckled as I smirked. "Why should I wait for the boy who leaves me?"
Jayden rolled his eyes. "How cruel you are. In a few months we're gonna graduate. And after that, I will go to Chicago."
"Then?"
Jayden snorted. "Whatever!"
Immediately I laughed after seeing his pout. Moreover, when he rolled his eyes as he turned his back on me.
"I'm not joking."
I paused my laugh. "I know you're not, but you're funny!" Then I laughed more.
"Really?" Jayden twisted his body as he smiled at me, stopping me from laughing.
I cleared my throat. "Forget it."
Jayden beamed. "Thanks."
He nudged me as if pretending to be coy. I gave him a pointed look. Meanwhile, he kept giving a cute smile, making me smile slightly, then chuckled.
"Watcha doing?!" I tried to show a flat expression.
But Jayden nudged me again and winked. I really wanted to smile and even laugh, but I didn't want to show it, so I switched my stare to another direction.
But I surrendered, he was really good at entertaining, I beamed finally.
"Lily."
I raised my eyebrows as I wondered.
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Hey, who wants to be my boyf--"
"I want." Jayden interrupted.
The atmosphere automatically turned awkward.
"I know you're joking, aren't you?" I gave a fake and weird smile.
