Not Your Ordinary Monday
Shen Yue hated Mondays, yet this one was not any Monday, this was THE Monday. The day had come, she was going to marry Dylan Wang.
Yue felt uneasy, the conversation of the night before had made her a bit confused.
Dylan's attitude was a mystery to her. Sometimes he was rude, stubborn, impatient and everything she disliked in men. Other days he was charmingly funny, thoughtful, just a true gentleman. Such changing behaviors made her anxious.
Why was he being too nice now?
During their few sessions together, he was adamant to talk about his issues. From the very start he had shown ill-manners, yet she saw a glimpse of hope when he was kind towards his fans.
Dylan didn't make it necessarily easy to be liked. He had that signature smirks of his, that defiant expression which only gave the impression of arrogance, therefore that infamous bad boy badge fit him to a T.
What had made Shen Yue restless all night was the thoughtful way had delivered a dress to her door.
Flashback
The night before
"Advisor I have seen the way you dress, don't get mad, but if want the NBA to believe you're my wife we need to try harder. I took the liberty to choose a simple, yet elegant dress. Your friend helped me."
Yue sat up against her tufted button headboard,
"are you serious?!"
Dylan's light laugh tickling her eardrum.
She really wanted to smack him.
"I have clothes, you know?!"
Dylan uttered an "uh huh... we'll show me then,"
he said sending a FaceTime time request to her iPhone.
In a moment of panic, she hanged up.
She rushed to the bathroom checking herself on the mirror, her eyes looked tired and her hair a mess.
"What the heck am I doing?!"
She realized she was trying to fix herself for Dylan Wang, like it actually mattered.
He called back to FaceTime and she picked up quickly.
"Why did you hang up, you don't want to accept the fact that you have no decent attire for this 'special' occasion?"
Yue rolled her eyes walking to her closet, phone on hand.
"What are you, the fashion police?"
She pulled two off-white dresses, "this works...?"
Dylan narrowed his eyes, quickly finding the wrinkles,
"sure, it work if you are trying to look like little Annie."
Yue's mouth hanged open, "it's timeless!"
Dylan shrugged, "what about the other one?"
She pulled the next one. The dress had lace that had been ripped from what Yue said was a 'mishap' with her heels.
Dylan was frowning, "you really need new clothes, the ones you have are very 90's."
Yue cleared her throat. Dylan was right her clothes were almost vintage and not in a very Vogue way.
Yue loved comfort, most of her closet were 2 sizes up except her work clothes.
