The next afternoon they had crossed Oregon and one  of Washington's big city, Tacoma.

The nerves were slowly crawling back inside Yue's head. She was about 2 hours away from meeting Dylan's mother. Her face changed completely once they crossed the tool road connecting Tacoma to the Kitsap Peninsula, best known as the Narrow Bridge.

"Wow!"

Dylan smiled, "well this is the first view of the Peninsula, welcome to Washington!"

Yue's eyes glued to the window taking in the scenery.

"how, beautiful!"

Shen Yue only saw green everywhere she looked.

"fun fact, forests in the Pacific Northwest have more evergreen trees than the rest of the country. They don't shed because the trees have needle leaves which retains more water, that's why it looks green all year round. Our forests are protected by the Washington Forest Protection Association!"

Yue turned to Dylan with a wide smile, "you sound like a Boy Scout."

"I'm your tour guide, I know everything!" He said very proud of himself.

"all those evergreens are common here, that over there," he pointed out.
"that's  the Washington State tree, the Western Hemlock. The yellowish green one is the Douglas Fir. That one next to it is my favorite, the Western Red Cedar."

Shen was impressed he could name most

Shen was impressed he could name most.

"you love it here, huh?"

He couldn't hide his happiness, of course he loved Washington, but had deprived himself from coming because of the memories he had with his father.

The two hours flew when they decided to talk about state fun facts Dylan had memorized since his elementary school days.

Yue knew they were nearing his town when the play of light in the water  was shimmering ,
the peninsula was saying hello them.

"is that it?!" she asked excited.

"yes, part of it."

Yue couldn't wait.
