With a written agreement you have a prayer; with a verbal agreement you have nothing but air.
-Robert RingerShen Yue tapped her fingers down on the dinning table. She checked her watch every other second. Her palms were sweaty and for some reason her heart was beating fast, she was nervous.
How the tables had turned.
She went from waiting for no one to waiting on her future husband. The door bell ringed and she was on her feet panicking.
It was him.
Dylan accompanied by his lawyer, and his Coach.
Dylan greeted her with a nervous smile. He didn't knowing what to do or where to start.
Dylan was hardly faced with uncomfortable situations, he was too confident to know the feeling of uneven ground.Yue asked them to take a seat, her small living room almost full.
Jiaqi and Caesar were already there waiting for everyone else. After a few minutes of silence Coach Yan nudged Dylan on the arm.
"Shen Yue, why don't you and Dylan talk in private?"
Yue nodded and asked Dylan to follow her inside the only spare room she had, her bedroom.
"Mr. Wang, come in"
"Dylan" he interrupted.
"Okay,Dylan... why are you ok with this outrageous plan?"
Dylan cleared his throat looking around a neat room. Her accent wall was pastel blue with a cozy white bed and two sofa chairs right next to her a full bookcase. He took one of those chairs to seat. He knew she probably had many questions.
"Advisor, I think I have a lot be blamed here. I broke your code of conducts or whatever you shrinks call it. I just want to revendicate my wrongdoing, and help you. I'm not trying to trap you, I'm only trying to give a solution. I brought my lawyer so we can make a fair contract and make sure everything is in order." He said nonchalantly.
Yue was stunned by his cool tone.
"Mr... Dylan, I seriously cant believe two days ago you were my client and now we are talking about marriage!"
Dylan agreed, "I know, this is very bizarre for me too, but like I said I'm here to give you a solution."
He pulled a piece of paper from his pocket,
"This is what the NBA sent me; they're planning a lawsuit within the next few days. They found out like everyone else that you were my counselor. They're greedy and won't stop until they see money. I have a few days to reply to this and we literally have 3 days to figure out an arrangement."
Yue was quiet for a few minute, she didn't believe that was the only reason.
"Advisor?" he asked softly.
she looked up.
"A week ago you didn't want us to talk about your issues, now you even want to marry me. This does not sound like you Mr... I mean Dylan."
Her eyes changed. There was more intensity within that gaze.
"I'm not your counselor right now, so I will be very straightforward. Why are you doing this, what do you get from this?"
Dylan was finally getting a glimpse of the real Shen Yue... he liked it.
Dylan himself didn't know why he was offering his help to that extent. He could look away and pretend nothing happened and let her resolve it, yet he would hate to see her suffer.
