Chapter 34

After our lunch outside, we all came back to Trent's unit. Tita and Tonton will be staying tonight at aalis na sila bukas na bukas din ng umaga. They will be flying from Tokyo to Kobe kaya mabilis lang din ang biyahe. I really wanted to visit them there again ng hindi dahil sa isang emergency. Our stay there before was quite intrusive and quick kaya hindi ko masyadong—sabihin ko ng hindi na-enjoy masyado kasi gusto ko talaga libutin ang paligid but we have no time to do that.

Maybe some other time and if possible I can push his birthday in August, we'll go there so Tonton and tita could help me for the preparation but tonight is something else.

It's either I will make it official or wait for the right time to call it. But I guess, whatever might happen tonight, doon pa rin naman ang ending namin dalawa. It will be me and him at the end of the day... ang problema na lang ay kung may eeksena pang katulad ni Albertyne.

I wear more casual than I would expect it to be tonight. It's just a simple maroon high waist dress and paired it with a maroon flats as well. Kaming dalawa lang ni Trent aalis. Tonton would be staying sa unit para may makasama si tita. I feel like tonight will be different from any other day. I'm not sure how did I get this feeling pero sa loob loob ko ay hindi na ako mapakali.

"Girl, ready na ba kayo?" tanong ni Sasa.

"Yup."

"Ikaw mukhang hindi pa," sagot niya sa akin kaya napalingon ako sa screen ng phone. "Nagme-make up ka pa r'yan e."

"I just wiped my lips lang at naglagay ako ng bagong shade. Masyado palang OA no'ng pagkakapula ng labi ko kanina. I think this is fine. Nude shade lang, what do you think?"

"Medyo maputla naman?" aniya.

Natapaas ako ng kilay at hinarap ko ang salamin. "Hindi naman. I mean, siguro dahil sa screen mo lang nakikita but I think it should be fine kapag sa personal na."

"Siguro nga," pagsang-ayon na nito. "And I know that there's only one person who will make a mess to your lipstick."

My eyes squinted. "That shouldn't happen. Mahal kaya 'tong lipstick na 'to."

"Sino bang mas mahal mo? Si Trent o 'yang lispstick mo?"

"Pwede both?" hagikgik ko pa. Later on, tumapon ang tingin ko kay Trent nang lumabas ito ng bathroom. Binalik ko rin ng mabilisan ang tingin ko kay Sasa sa phone. "He's already prepared na. I think we'll head out in any minute. Just update me na lang kung anong nasaan na kayo ah?"

"I will, girl, babu!" she said then dropped the call.

I shifted my head to Trent.

"Come here," pagtawag nito sa akin. "Smell my perfume."

Lumapit naman ako sa kanya at kinurot ko ang tela ng damit niya at inilapit ko sa ilong ko. But my nose travelled everywhere kaya hinawakan ni Trent ang ulo ko at itinitigil niya ang pag-amoy ko sa kanya.

"I think one sniff would be enough," he said. Napahagikgik na lang din naman ako. "It's not bad. I mean, you smell so good. Ano bang meron?'

"I thought I sprayed too much and it got bad," he said.

Umiling naman ako sa kanya. "No, it wasn't." Inulit ko naman ang pag-amoy ko sa kanya hangga't sa tumungo ang ilong ko sa kilikili niya. Iniangat ko naman ang braso niya para maamoy ko rin ang kilikili niya and it was soothing. Pwede na akong manirahan dito habangbuhay.
