Chapter 17

I woke up with someone's arm around me. Nang mapagtanto kong wala ako sa kwarto ko at nabato bigla ang katawan ko. Hindi ako makapagreact ng bongga dahil baka magising si Trent so I started moving his hand off of me.

Nagawa ko iyon nang maayos at dahan-dahan din akong bumangon at itinapak ang paa ko sa sahig. I made sure that I'll make no noise. When I looked at the time, it's past five in the morning and it's already time for me to start my day. I was about to stand up when Trent moved. Parang nanigas din ang katawan ko sa nangyari pero dahil nanatili siyang tulog ay nagpatuloy ako.

As I stood on my feet, I scurried my way to the door. I slowly turned the knob and then had a quick glance at the sleeping Trent on the bed. It somehow brought some smiles to my face.

I know I shouldn't have done what I did last night, but just like what I imposed, it should mean nothing.

I left his room and closed the door behind. Napahugot naman ako ng malalim na hininga at ngiti ang naiwan sa mukha ko. I don't know what the kiss meant for him last night, maybe it could be nothing but it's good.

It's good to know that there's someone who shows his care for me.

Over the course of the days, it was easy for me to do all the works when I have Sasa by my side. Though she won't be paid to help me, she understands it naman because her stay in my boss' unit was already enough for her. It's the least thing she could do she said. But I'll lend her some money if she got a problem with her lodging at kung matuloy man ang sinasabi ni Trent na may tatanggap kay Sasa to work for them as helper, it would be a good thing dahil hindi na siya mahihirapan.

"Ano bang gagawin natin? Bakit kailangan ko pang magdamit ng pormal?" tanong ni Sasa habang tinitingnan ang sarili sa harap ng salamin.

"Iyon lang ang sabi ni Trent sa akin. I don't think it's a demand, it's actually an order. Baka may something na mangyayari."

"E? Bakit ikaw? Hindi ka mag-aayos?" she countered.

"I will but not as formal as you," I answered.

She squinted her eyes, trying to read my face. "Alam mo siguro kung anong meron 'no? Dali na! Tell it to me na para naman hindi ako kabadong-kabado. Parang lulundag na ang puso ko sa sobrang kaba e."

I chuckled, shaking my head. "I think you shouldn't worry about it. Hindi ka naman siguro ipapahamak ni Trent e. I may only know him for a month but I felt so secured and safe when I'm with him."

"E, ikaw 'yon! You're not me, so magkaiba 'yon, girl," ngisi pa nito. "Pero alam ko kung anong nagyari sa inyo ni Trent no'ng nakaraang gabi," aniya sabay hagikgik.

Kinuha ko naman 'yong unan sa tabi ko at binato sa kanya. She slipped to her balance but not to the point she fell down. "Baliw ka. Ano na naman 'yang pinagsasabi mo? Issue ka, Sasa."

"Sus! Sus! Ito talaga! Malihim ka pala girl, ah! Okay lang naman na hindi mo sabihin sa akin. Ramdam ko naman."

"Anong ramdam mo? Ano ba 'yang pinagsasabi mo? Parang tanga 'to."

"Hot slight lang naman pero aminin, nakailang rounds kayo? Infairness, sound proof siguro ang kwarto ni Trent kaya wala akong narinig na ingay. So, what does it felt like, Lav? Nanalo ka ba sa horse racing?"

"Gross, Sasa. Walang nangyaring gano'n sa amin ni Trent and for Pete's sake, that'll never happened in many years."

"But after that many years baka pwede na?" Halakhak pa ni Sasa. "Pero seryoso? Anong nangyari no'ng isang gabi? Akala ko iniwan mo akong mag-isa matulog no'n sa kama so I checked you on the living room kung doon ka natulog sa couch but then I found no one there so thought you must be in his room."
