"She needs to rest Mr. Evans."

"I want to be here when she wakes up."

"Mr. Evans..."

"I am technically in the visiting hours."

Chris and a man are arguing. About what?

I bat my eyes open and look around. There is a window to my right and it is dark outside. There are 2 chairs in front of me and I am surrounded by pale color tiles. I am in the hospital.

"Gaby! You awake!" Chris beams and is by my side.

I stretch out my arms and lick my lips. They dry.

"W-Where...Where –"

"Sshh" Chris soothes and he strokes my hair.

"No. Why am I here?" I try to sit up, but Chris gently pushes me back down.

"You fainted. I brought you to the hospital. The doctor said you need to stay here overnight."

I look out the window. "What time is it?" I ask.

"It's just hit 6PM." Chris answers.

My eyes expand as I realize that it is evening time. "My mom! My sister! Where are they?" I sit up, but that was a bad move. My head feels like it is spinning.

"Ooow." I grunt, placing my fingers on my nose.

"The doctor said you need rest." Chris is at my side, wrapping his arm around me.

"My mom!" I shriek.

"She will be here shortly." Chris says calmly.
"And my sister?"

"She is going to her friend's house to revise her school work. Now settle down." Chris kisses my forehead. And just like that, I relax instantly. I lie my head down on his chest. I wrap my arms around him and it feels like I am hugging a giant teddy bear. I want this moment to last forever!

"You are squeezing a little too tight." Chris chuckles.

"Sorry." I loosen my hold and I close my eyes.

"This is nice." I say. My new happy place is being wrapped in Christopher's arms. I feel safe and I feel that no bad person can harm me.

"I like it too. You are a cheeky girl, but you are my girl."

My girl! He said I am his girl!

I contain my excitement because I really do not want to leave this spot.

"Yes Chris and you are my man." Chris squeaks, pretending to sound like me.

"Yes Chris. You are my man." I giggle, tapping his arm.

"I am sorry. I shouldn't be exciting you. You need to rest." Chris kisses my head.

"I don't mind. I like that you are here with me." Just then, reality hits me. "The Summer Rock Party! What happened after I fainted?" I practically scream.

"Gaby! Relax my girl." There he goes saying "my girl" again! I'm blushing. "The dancers performed and then the principal come on stage to thank everyone for attending. That is what Riley told me. I left before the dancers were finished." Chris explains.

"My hero." I say allowed. I immediately cover my hands over my mouth.

"I like that. 'My hero'." Chris chuckles.

I turn so I am looking at his eyes. We stare at each other for a few seconds before I lean in and kiss Chris. His lips are soft and full. They fit perfectly with mine.

"GABY!"

I break the kiss and see my mother by the door.

"My baby! Are you okay?" She runs straight to me and picks me up like I am a rag doll.

"Mom!" I sound embarrassed. Like my boyfriend is right here!

"Thank you Chris." My mother sobs and squeezes me.

"You're squeezing too tight mom." I gasp for air.

"Sorry my baby." My mother lets me go.

"The doctor said she needs to stay here overnight." Chris tells my mother.

"Then I will stay here until then. I already packed some snacks –"

"If it is alright with you..." Chris interrupts my mother, "I'd like to stay here with Gaby for the night."

I look to Chris. "No. I don't expect any of you to stay here overnight." I crease my brows.

"I made my decision, and I want to stay with you." Chris holds my hand.

I smile.

"Are you sure?" My mom asks Chris.

"I wouldn't have insisted on staying if I didn't want to stay with your daughter." Chris smiles to my mom.

My mother looks at me with a concerned look.

"I will be okay mom." I stretch out my smile.

"Fine, but I will be here first thing in the morning." My mom looks at Chris. "And behave. That is still my baby." My mom points to me. I roll my eyes and giggle.

"She is in good hands." Chris assured my mother.

"My baby!" My mother hugs me and squeezes me one last time.
