It was official. Chris and I were dating. It felt good to be with him. It turns out the other girl was his ex-girlfriend and she just showed up to the event. Chris explained to me that he didn't want anything to do with her. She just wanted to be the center of attention, and Chris couldn't take put up with her reputation.
Riley brought a date to the event. Her name is Melissa and she is such a sweet girl. She and Riley have known each other for a few months now, and they do seem interested in each other. It turns out that she will be moving to my school from next week, and I was happy that I will finally have someone to hang out with.
As Chris and I walked onto the dance floor, we saw Riley and Melissa dancing.
This did make me so happy because Riley seems to have found someone he is going to spend a lot of time with.
Chris opened his hand. "Care for a dance?" He smiles.
I know my cheeks are crimson, but I didn't mind. I took his hand and we both danced together.
This was the best day – or should I rather say – the best night of my life...
