"Kieran, the leads are ready for you." Yu-jun spoke while peeking through the office doors. I lifted my head from the newest orders and gestured him to wait. Yu-jun sighed and came inside. "Have you still not decided?" he asked me, and sat down on the guests chair. I shook my head and started biting the inside of my cheek. You're going to get a hole there. Stop it. After Jimin made up his mind about joining Dan's business, there was no use talking him out of it. I tried to tell him that this is not what I want, and that it's not what he needs, but he didn't listen. He told me that it didn't matter what he had to do, as long as he'd be able to be with me and support me. This didn't help me feel any better though, because now I had to decide what sort of criminal I am going to turn him into. Then you shouldn't have agreed, dumbass.
A few days ago, when Jimin accepted Dan's proposal, the three of us spent several hours in the office. Dan and I were opening our cards to Jimin, and I saw how with every word Jimin became more baffled. It was obvious that he didn't expect things to be on a such deep level as they were. "I thought you guys were selling drugs or something.." He mumbled under his breath, getting a giggle out of Dan. We told him of the main focuses of our business, and that at the moment there is a rival gang that is trying to get Dan. Jimin asked Dan if he was hurt by them too, and Dan confirmed. "Did you get a good look at your assailant?" "No, they had masks, voice changers. They were professionals." While the two kept talking about Dan's attack I kept wondering how much I should tell Jimin regarding Hammer. It wasn't a matter of trust, it was a matter of safety. He joined our family, which already was putting him in danger, and I was scared that if he'd know the full story of Hammer he could become his target too. I kept avoiding the subject, but Jimin asked Dan how did the rivalry begin and Dan instantly told him about their relations. Well, shit.
"See, Jimin, Hammer wants something that is in my possession-" "Dan.. Is this really necessary?" I quickly interrupted, earning a dissatisfied look from Jimin. "Do you trust him or not, Kieran?" Dan tilted his head. "I do. It's not about trust, it's about his safety." I tried to stand my ground while Jimin rolled his eyes. "Kieran, I think your boyfriend here has made his decision." Dan cut my protests off and turned back to Jimin, who was still eyeing me for speaking on his behalf. "As I was saying. I was not sure first, but it seems that my brother has grown a new family for himself, and now wants to take mine too. It looks like our dad has left a will somewhere, and I believe that Hammer knows where it is." "Why won't he simply take it, then?" Jimin asked and leaned in, resting his elbows on his knees. "Because he can't access it. Dad was quite a tactician too," Dan looked at me and smiled, "He hid his will somewhere and left the key here. I found it, and Hammer seems to know it. He wants the key." Jimin stiffened instantly and narrowed his eyebrows. "There's a mole." He stated, leaving an impression on Dan and I. He took Dan's words calmly and assessed the situation quickly, he really was not a fool. "Yes, I'm sure Hammer has a mole here." Dan confirmed Jimin's statement. Jimin stood up and crossed his arms, still furrowing his brows. "Do you have any idea who the mole is?" he asked quietly, as if afraid that someone was listening in. "No." I finally spoke up. "But we will find out, Dan seems to be struggling with it," I looked at my brother and raised my brow, "so I will help him with it from now on." Jimin smiled, looking quite pleased with my efficiency. "What about the key?" He asked again. "Where are you keeping it?" I saw Dan opening his mouth, and without even thinking I jumped in. "Away from here. We hid it safely, in case Hammer would send his men again." Dan turned to me, but didn't argue with me this time. If Jimin would know that I had the key on me ever since Dan got hurt he would have started to fume. It was better to keep him in the dark, better for both him and me.
"Kieran!" Yu-jun's shout ripped my out of my memories. "You need to make a decision, you'll have to tell one of the leads who's team your pretty boy will be joining." I turned my head and stared out the window. I wish he wouldn't need join any.. However, that was out of the question. I knew I couldn't stall much longer. I turned back at Yu-jun "Please call Jimin over. We can start the meeting after our talk." Yu-jun quickly stood up and shifted his attitude instantly. "Yes ma'am."
