Broken - Raekkuno oneshots

Among Us - Escape

The knife dropped onto the floor.

"Aren't you killing me?" Sykkuno still didn't move.

Rae stepped forwards and held his neck around her arms, separated by the transparent hemisphere. 

Sykkuno stayed shocked for a few seconds before hugging Rae back. He could feel her back moving back and forth as her body trembled violently. He had never seen the weak side of Rae before.

"What should I do..." Rae panted, "I don't want anyone to die..."

"Neither do I, Rae." Sykkuno stroked her on the helmet, and squeezed her tighter under his chin, "Neither do I."

Just then the lights went off. They pulled apart from the hug. 

"Sykkuno, " Rae called him as she climbed into the vent, "Stay alive. And watch out for..." 

She was interrupted by Sykkuno pushing the vent door close and continued his download, whilst a crowd was rushing into electrical to fix the lights. 

But she knew that Sykkuno could only save her once.

When Sykkuno finished his download, the electrical was already filled with half the players, including Corpse and Toast, doing their tasks after having fixed lights. 

Sykkuno nodded to them and left.

O2 called. Fixed O2.

Lights off. 

Sykkuno didn't bother running all the way across the ship. All of his movements became automated, and despite that players could and were meant to communicate with each other, everyone was dead silent. Fear dominated over the game which would be what considered as quote immersive unquote otherwise. 

As he moved his way through the darkness in weapons, with his gloved hands tracing the edge of the metal panels, he could hear a series of footsteps rushing from the other end of the corridor. 

To him.

Running was his first instinct. He could hear the sound of his heartbeat, echoing inside the limited space of his suit. It was the second time in his life in which he experienced that such an amount of adrenaline. The first time was when he was being chased down by bullies, back in middle school. 

Panting, he was knocked over by the edge of the table. Thanks to the spacesuit his thigh wasn't bleeding, nevertheless it hurt like hell. But after the light went back on, as he saw the outline of a yellow spacesuit approaching him with something shiny on the hands, Sykkuno rolled up and stumbled his way to upper engine. 

He bumped into the walls several times as he passed medbay. The doors separating the pathway to the engine were slowly closing. Great, there were voices coming from security, as long as he made his way to the crowds...

The two panels of the doors became closer and closer.

But somehow the distance between Sykkuno and the doors spread out, no matter how hard he run. Was it a delusion?

And his helmet banged onto them.

He didn't make through.
