A trail of hydrangea petals guided her along the complexed corridors, getting denser and denser until she reached a room.
The hydrangeas were no longer soft green. They were dyed crimson red by their egos. Petals were falling down in zig-zag motion, from the full-blossomed sphere in his mouth, onto his plain, white jumper, onto the blanket, onto the ground. All soaked with the red liquid.
It splashed every step she took towards him, and became as still as a lake, or more like a pool, when she stopped.
Gently, she laid her hands on Sykkuno's. They were just as pale as his face. And cold. Icy cold.
He waited for her reply, until the last second of his life.
