But Sykkuno seized her wrist.
"No, Rae, you're mad," he shook his head desperately, and avoided to use the "cRAEzy" pun – not now, "it's just a coincidence. This key won't work on the vent. The system has a bug. It must be a glitch."
Rae didn't comment. She simply looked up and stared through Sykkuno's eyes. There were crystals hanging on the eyelids, contrasted to the cloudiness of the sclera, caused by endless nights of gaming for five hours straight. Nevertheless, that streamer had managed to have stars in his eyes, but not anymore.
"Please tell me you're a crewmate." Sykkuno started begging at the point. "Please."
Rae knelt down. With a gentle crack, she pushed the key deep into the lock and placed a finger on either side of it. One turn, two turns, crack.
Sykkuno gazed in horror as Rae opened the vent. She didn't dive in, instead, she walked towards Sykkuno, with a knife in her hand.
He didn't beg for mercy. He didn't call out for others. He didn't even move back.
He just stood there, waiting for his fate to come.
Baam.
