A day like any other day.
I think that is what a normal life would be like. Just going on with life, not caring about the worries you might have, and having a good social life. My life used to be like that. It used to be.
Hi. I am Jordan Kyser. I am 17 years old. Yes, I am a senior in high school. I am not much of a normal person really. My life is not much anything but normal either. My life seems boring if it repeats itself daily for years. Although, a major change in my life that could harm me is something I do not want. I know how that kind of a story works. It is like when you watch a movie about when someone asks for a different life that they seem to not like the new life later. Why am I going on about this? I have no idea, but I know that, eventually, that will happen to me.
The next day...My alarm did not ring. Oh wait, it is just Saturday, so my alarm does not ring during the weekends. I walked out of my bedroom, and out of the front door, and notice a piece of paper on my porch saying this:
ATTENTION RESIDENT OF THIS HOUSE
YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN AN EXPERIMENT
WE ARE LOCATED AT THE SPACE CENTERHmm... space center? What even is this? I am not much of an astrologist or astronomer, but why an experiment at the space center? I think what I said yesterday had a little bit of a jinx in my life. Although, I should probably go check this out, even though I am disobeying the rule of strangers. If you do not know anything about something or someone, do not go with the flow.
At the space center...
I noticed hundreds of people at the space center. "Maybe I was not the only one invited to an 'experiment'. I would not want to go, but what it this even for?"
"Hey," someone just sneaked up on me.
He made me jump back a little bit. "Woah, hey there... umm... you s-startled me. Umm, what is your name?"
"My name is Stephen Blaine, nice to meet you."
I paused, "Umm... nice to meet you too. My name is Jordan Kyser."
"So... Jordan... why are you here?" I showed him the piece of paper from my house. "Oh, you were selected too?"
"What do you mean 'too'?" I think I know what he will say next.
"Look at this." He showed me his sheet. "There were a small group of selected people to do some experiment at this space center. I believe that there are around at least 25 people who were selected."
"Why do they need us? We are just random people that are strangers to those people."
"I have seen the staff here. I don't know why, but these people seem very weird."
"What do you think? I don't see how some people can be so attached to astronomy and astrology. I mean that they study it continuously."
"You would be surprised about how many other people can be to other studies of science."
"Believe me. I am one who loves meteorology. I love how the weather comes and goes."
"See? Even you have a liking to a study of science."
"Umm... how long have we been talking?" Oh great, I am getting nervous in front of this person.
"At least 10 minutes."
"Man, time seems to go so fast—" I was talking, until someone yelled.
"Attention everyone! If you were selected for our special event at the space center, then come on up and we will tell you the rest!" Is this it? Was I one of these people selected for... whatever this crazy idea is?
