I know that this is going to be a bad trip, and why is it that the repeating thought keeps coming into my head? I might as well just go with it, or I could just complain all the way. It really does not matter.
"So, Jordan, I might help with repairing your ship, if I can find the right tools," Jacob was insisting on repairing our ship. I would not even find a reason to why not.
"That would be much appreciated. Anyways, I guess we could, umm... look around while you repair our ship." I turn to Stephen. "You know, this planet sure is amazing and all, but I do not know how we will be able to go back to our home on Earth. One thing that really bugs me is the badge on the person's shirt at the space center. It was a golden yellow badge almost in the shape of a diamond with threads to resemble the sun rising from the horizon on their uniform. It would really help if I could remember, so I could be alert if I ever saw that badge again."
"Jordan, both of us know that our suspicions of seeing that badge will overwhelm us."
"Wait, what are you talking about?" Stephen and I just walk along and discuss this situation. I think I know what he might say.
"I think I know why you were so suspicious in the first place, so was I. This 'experiment' may not even be an experiment at all. Who knows? For all I know, there are known to be people who are sending others to places thought to have never been habitable."
"But... what about Gliese 581g? The planet we assume we are on?"
"That is a bit of a different situation... Gliese 581g was rather hypothetical because of the theories of where it was located and the size of the star it orbits."
I am a bit confused. "Go on..."
"Where Earth happens to be in relevance to the size of our star, the Sun, just happens to be near the middle of what is called 'The Habitable Zone'. Where Gliese 581g is hypothetically located and the size of its star, Gliese 581, might be located in that similar location. In a sense, astronomers have hypothesized that Gliese 581g might be habitable for us."
"Umm... I think I have heard of that theory before..."
"You may have, you may have not. The theory that I have explain is also known as the 'Goldilocks Theory'. Gliese 581g is hypothetically thought to have contained water, which is another major factor to this theory, which is to have a cycled atmosphere that contains hydrogen and oxygen. Although that sounds simple, the actual process is extremely difficult."
"So, could Gliese 581g have water. I mean, Jacob has been here for around 20 years, so maybe this planet has water, right?"
"I think that can be a great possibility by that statement."
I looked back to the ship and noticed something. "Wait, why is everybody else stepping out of the ship?"
"Oh, don't worry, Jordan. I must let everyone out before I start repairing the ship. I really I found my tools in a nearby building."
I ran to him and looked at the building. "Oh, how did I not noticed that building before. I think you were letting everyone out because of loose objects, I assume?"
"I am an engineer. I know how to repair stuff when I am needed. You really do know a lot about safety, but you don't know much about the experience that I have."
"I guess not. I really don't know because I have not seen you or your work." I did know about the safety of work, but I did not know he was an engineer.
"Hey, Jordan, I thought we were going to explore a little bit, weren't we?"
"Oh, yes. Let's just walk around. I guess the rest of the people can follow us, even though we do not even know where we are going." So, we are taking a short walk. Short because I don't know exactly how long the ship repair will take. "You know, this planet actually seems very pleasant."
