Chapter 9
"You're Wrong."
DEAN'S POV
~DEMON'S BASE CAMP~
"Please! Come on!" I spit as Kylie continuously pours salt down my throat. "omnis immundus." Rufus says but nothing happens because I'm not a fucking Demon Rufus!
Rufus stops as Kylie lets go of my throat and stops pouring salt down my throat. Rufus hands me a water jug and I rip it out of his hand and chug down the water.
I set the half empty jug down and look at them. "Look! Something's not right! Do you see that?" I ask but jump back in the chair as she splashes me in the face. I spit out a mouthful of water. "Come on! Stop! Listen to me!" I say but as Kylie goes to grab something I catch Roger in the corner of my eye coming into the house.
What the fuck is Roger doing here?
He stops and smirks at me as he twists his ring and goes into another room.
What the fuck is going on here? I wonder as I look up and see a devils trap on the ceiling above me. Why the fuck do they think I'm one of them? Would they even be doing this if I was on their side?
I look at Kylie and Rufus. "Listen." I say trying to catch their attention as they are whispering in the corner of the room. "Look, listen to me, something's not right! When Skye was attacked by two demons she stabbed them with Ruby's knife and she said they didn't light from the inside." I say, they continue to whisper. "The salt didn't work, the exorcism isn't working, and neither is the holy water because I'm not a fucking demon! Please! Please listen to me!" I yell.
SKYE'S POV
~CHURCH~
I sit down at the table with Ellen. "Skye, one of them's in Kylie. We got to get it out without hurting her and we need to get Dean out of there." Ellen says. "We will Auntie." I say.
"She snorts. "It called me a bitch." She says. "Bruise a little easy, don't you think Aunite." I tease. "No, that's not what I meant. It called me a black-eyed bitch." She says. "What kind of demons are these? Holy water and salt roll right off. Ruby's Knife is making them not light. Dean and Kylie may be idiots sometimes, but they aren't stupid. Dean has an anti-possession tattoo on the left side of his chest and Kylie wears an anti-possession charm. It's all kind of weird, right?" I ask.
"The whole thing's off. What's your instinct?" She asks. "My instinct? My instinct is to call Bobby and Sam, ask them for help. Or Dean." I sigh. "Well, tough. All you got's me, and all I got's you. So let's figure it out." She smiles. "All right." I smile. "Do you know why Rufus came to town? Was there a specific omen?" I ask. "He said something about water. That's all I know." She says. "Padre, you know what she's talking about the water?" I ask the Pastor.
"The river. Ran polluted all of a sudden." He says. "When?" I ask. "Last Wednesday. And the demon thing started up the next day." Austin says as he walks over to Ellen and I. "Anything else? Anything?" I ask him as he sits down close next to me.
"Maybe, but it's pretty random." He says. "Good. Random's good." I say. "Shooting star..does that count?" He asks causing Ellen and I to look at each other. "How big?" Ellen asks as we look back at him. "Real big. Same night too. Wednesday." He says.
"That definitely counts." I say, looking over at Ellen as she nods in agreement. I stand up and go over to the bookshelf. I grab the bible and walk over to the table and sit down, starting to search through it. "What are you looking for?" Austin asks as he leans closer to me, reading over my shoulder.
"And there fell a great star from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell upon the river, and the name of the star was Wormwood. And many men died." I read the passage that I was looking for. "Revelation eight ten. Are you saying that this is about the apocalypse?" He asks.
"You could say. And these specific omens, they're prelude to what?" I ask. "The Four Horsemen." Ellen says.
The red mustang that I saw when Dean and comes to mind.
"And which one rides the red horse?" I ask. "War." Austin says. "That cherry Mustang parked on Main." I say. "I've seen that car." She says.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa...you two can't really think that car belongs to War." He chuckles. "It's the way I'd roll. I mean, think about it. It all makes sense. If War is a dude and he's here, maybe he's messing with our heads." I say.
"Turning us against eachother by thinking we are demons." Ellen says as she catches on. "You did say Kylie called you a black-eyed bitch. They think we're demons, we think they're demons. What if there are no demons at all and we're all just killing eachother." I say.
Those teens...they really were innocent...
DEAN'S POV
~LIVING ROOM~
Jo and Rufus leave the room and not even a few minutes by, Roger enters. "Who they hell are you?" I ask as he takes off his glasses. "What are you?" I ask him as he smirks. "You caught me. Popped in to watch. I can hustle like that." He chuckles. "So, the Roger everyone around here knows, the real Roger?" I ask. "Buried in a ditch." He smiles proudly.
I roll my eyes and nods as Roger closes the door behind him, moving another chair closer and sits down. "So who are you?" I ask. "Here's a hint. I was in Germany. Then in Germany. Then in the Middle East. I was in Darfur when my beeper went off. I'm waiting to hook up with my siblings. I've got three. We're going to have so much fun together." He smiles.
One of the four horsemen, War.
"I know who you are. There aren't any demons in town are there?" I ask.
"Nope. Just frightened people ripping each other's throats out. I really haven't had to do too much. Take out a bridge here, lay in a little hallucination there, sit back, pop some corn, watch the show. Frankly, you're really vicious little animals, Dean." He laughs.
"No, you're doing this." I glare. "Please. Last week, this was Mayberry. Now these people are stabbing each other's children." He laughs. "Cause you made them see demon's!" I yell. "Honestly, people don't need a reason to kill each other. I mean, you seen the Irish? They're all Irish." He says and I roll my eyes. "You think I'm a monster. I'm jello shots at a party. I just remove inhibitions." He says. "I'm gonna kill you myself." I growl making War laugh. "Oh, that's adorable, considering you're my poster boy." He fake pouts.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I ask. "You can't stop thinking about Skye and Austin's attraction for one another." He smirks.
My blood starts to boil as I breath harder getting more and more pissed off. "You're wrong." I say. "Save your protests for Skye. I can see inside your head. And man, it is one-track city in ther. Skye, Ske, Skye. The lust for her. Same as always. You want to be with her again. But she is beginning to get interest in another man. Good intentions...quick slide to hell, buddy boy. You feel bad now? Wait till you're covered in Austin's blood. Because, my friend, I'm just getting started." He smirks as he stands up, putting his glasses back on.
Showtime for the meatsuits. Watch this." He winks.
He twists his ring and I watch as blood starts to flow down his forehead. He kicks over the chair he was just sitting in, drops on the floor and lets out a scream.
"You son of a bitch." I growl as Rufus kicks open the door, Kylie right behind him. "He did it!" War cries. "NO!" I yell. "He said they're coming! He said they're coming to get us!" War yells. "No, stop! Kylie, Rufus, he's lying! No!" I yell at them.
"You shut your mouth." Rufus threatens me. "Please Kylie! Rufus! He's lying!" I yell, trying to them to listen to me.
