SKYE'S POV

~ST. JAMES MEDICAL CENTER~

"Hey, Marty. Is Dr. Corman around?" Dean asks as him ad I walk to the front desk. "You haven't heard?" He asks. "Heard what?" I ask him. "Guy's been dry for the 20 years, but this morning, he left work, went home, and drank himself to death." Marty says.

"It's Famine." I whisper to Dean as we head back to the Impala. "They haven't harvested his soul yet." Cas says as he appears in front of us. "Well, if we want to play follow the soul to get to famine, our best shot starts with the doc, here." Dean says as Cas unwraps another hamburger. "Are you serious?" I ask him. "These make me very happy." He smiles with a huge grin before taking a very large bite.

"How many is that now?" Dean asks as we all get inside the Impala. "I lost count. It's in the low hundreds. What I don't understand is...where is your guys hunger?" Cas asks. "Huh?" I ask him as Dean starts the car.

"Well, slowly but surely, everyone in this town is falling prey to Famine, but so far, you two seem unaffected." He says. "Hey, when we want to drink, we drink." Dean says. "When we want sex, we go get it." I say. "Same goes for a sandwich or a fight." Dean says. "So...you two are saying you're just well-adjusted?" Cas asks. "God, no. We are just well fed." I say to him.

"Look there." Cas says pointing to the building that we just came out of.

We watch as a man in a black suit comes out, carrying a briefcase and getting into a car before it drives off, with us following behind but keeping distance. "Demons. You want to over the plan?" I ask Cas who is apparently to busy with stuffing his face with burgers. "Hey, happy meal. The Plan!" Dean yells at Cas. "I take the knife, I go in, I cut off the ring hand of Famine, and I meet you two back here in the parking lot." He says.

"Well, that sounds foolproof." I roll my eyes but Castiel disappears just as we pull into the Biggerson's Restaurant.

"I don't like this. He just should be back by now. It shouldn't take this long for him." Dean says as he gets out of the car and I follow him inside the building to find Cas kneeling on the floor, stuffing his mouth with raw ground meat. We are to distracted to notice four demons coming up behind us and grab us.

"The other Mr. Winchester and Ms. Lacey." A guy in a wheelchair says, with two, who I am guessing are demons beside him. "What did you do to him?" I ask. "You sicced your dog on me. I just threw him a steak." He chuckles. "So, this is your big trick? Huh? Making people cuckoo for cocoa puffs?" Dean asks.

"Doesn't take much, hardly a push. Oh, America all you can eat, all the time. Consume, consume. A swarm of locusts in stretch pants. And yet, you're still starving because hunger doesn't just come from the body, it also comes from the soul." He says. "It's funny, it doesn't seem to be coming from us." I say. "Yes. I noticed that. Have you two wondered why that is? How you could even walk in my presence?" He asks. "Well, I like to think it's because of our strength of character." Dean chuckles. "I disagree. You two got nothing. Can't fill it. Not with food or drink. Not even with sex." He says. "Oh, you're so full of shit." I laugh.

"Oh, you can smirk and joke and lie to each other, lie to Sam, lie to yourselves, but not to me! I can see inside you. I can see how broken the two of you are, how defeated. You two can't win, and you know it. But you just keep fighting. Just keep going through the motions. You're not hungry, because inside you two are already dead." He says.

"Let them go." I hear Sam say and turn my head to find Sam at the doors, stained with blood. "Sam no." I say as he heads over to Famine as two more demons move to attack Sam. "Stop! No one lays a finger on this sweet little boy. Sam, I see you got the snack I sent you." Famine smiles.

"You sent?" He asks. "Don't worry. You're not like everyone else. You'll never die from drinking too much. You're the exception that proves the rule. Just the way Satan wanted you to be. So cut their throats. Have at them!" He laughs as he lifts his hands and gestures at the demons who are guarding him.

"Sammy, no!" Dean yells. "Please, be my guest." Famine chuckles. "Sam don't do it!" I yell as Sam lifts his hand, closing his eyes, and pulls the demons from their hosts at once. I stare in shock as demon spoke pools on the floor." No." Sam growls as he lowers his hand.

"Well, fine. If you don't want them, then I'll have them." He says as he devours all five of the demon souls. Sam steps forward as he extends his hand toward Famine. "I'm a horseman, Sam. Your power doesn't work on me." Famine chuckles. "You're right. But it will work on them." Sam says as he uses his power to rip out all the souls Famine has consumed making Famine scream.

I watch Sam in utter shock, not believing what I am seeing as his nose starts to bleed with the effort, but the demon souls explode out of Famine, making him slump, his eyes now empty.

~BOBBY'S HOUSE – BASEMENT~

Dean, Cas and I stand outside of the panic room door as Sam screams inside. "Let me out of here, please! Help!" He bangs on the door. "That's not him in there. Not really." Cas says to us. "We know." I sniffle. "Sam just has to get it out of his system. Then He'll be fine." Cas says. "I need some air." Dean says quietly and heads upstairs. "You better be right about this Cas." I say.
