                          Aiden

" Ferrum," I shook the sandy wolf in front of me in attempt to wake her. This morning I went to her room to check in on her and found that she wasn't there. Her scent was faded and I began to worry." Ferrum!" I said louder.

Her head finally popped up as she startled, I smiled at her and ruffled the small hairs on her wolf's head." Hey, you had me worried. Shift and get dressed everyone's about to start the games."

Ferrum tilted her head to the side in confusion. I pushed a long sleeved black shirt toward her along with some pants and undergarments. She gratefully took them and stalked off to a more private place to shift and get dressed.

I waited for a few mintues until I finally heard her soft footfalls heading toward me." Morning, sunshine." I grinned, her sandy hair was slightly messy but she other wise looked refreshed." What were you doing out here?"

" I couldn't sleep in that room." She rasped out. Her voice a little rough from just waking up." Anyways, what are you talking about? What games?"

I smiled and grabbed Ferrum by the hand, I began pulling her toward the front of the pack house and into a clearing in the woods where some other pack members were." Mating game." I said, looking a Ferrum's raised eyebrow.

" Mating games?" She asked, her being rogue means she didn't know much about what packs did which explained her confusion.

" Female's hide from their mates somewhere and anywhere in the woods and the males go and find them. Meaning you will be hiding from me." I let go of her hand and walk to where all the other guys were." It's just to see if we're a good match."

Ferrum hesitantly walked over to where the other female's were standing, waiting for the gun to go off." I thought we done this already? In the woods, don't you remember?"

I nodded, that night felt like yesterday." I do but this let's the whole pack know." I finished just before the gun went off. All the females ran off, some shifting and some going in their human forms. I looked at Ferrum excellently." Run."

She did. And she was gone in a flash. I could hear the weight of her wolf running off into the distance, through the tree's until I could no longer pick up the sound.

Myself and the other males readied yourselves, waiting for the gun to go off and let the hunt begin.

Bang

I shredded my clothes and allowed my wolf to break free. He was instantly locked onto to Ferrum's scent.

Unlike last time she didn't seem to know where to go, what good hiding places were in the woods and that left her out in the open. She went left, right, and ran straight but clearly couldn't think of where to go.

I heard several howls of victory within a few mintues and I joined in, congratulating them on their achievement.

My wolf came to a sudden stop when he came to a crossroad, our mate's scent went into many different directions leaving us with a mystery in where she went.

'I guess she found another way to make it hard on us.' My wolf growled his approval.

I chuckled at him, he found it thrilling that even in unfamiliar lands Ferrum could find a way to throw us off her trail.

His nose worked double time. Trying to pick out the most frequent trail of her was difficult when there were so many to choose from.

His head snapped up and he was dashing around the western side of our territory. He let out a howl, signaling he was getting close to her.

As we grew closer we were suddenly pinned down by another wolf, my wolf didn't struggle. With Ferrum's alluring smell pollinating the air around the female we instantly thought it was her. The wolf nuzzled and licked at our muzzle while joyful whines filled the air, I could see her tail wagging extremely fast.

But it wasn't her.

Chelsea

We pushed her off of us and quickly stood.'What are doing, Chelsea?' My wolf growled, irritated by her appearance in the games.

'Making sure you found me... which you did.' Chelsea purred out.'Your wolf followed my scent instead of your actual mate's... doesn't that tell you something, Aiden?'

'Your scent?' I questioned, confusion evident in my voice.'We were following Ferrum's scent.'

'You followd mine!' She growled, her fur bristling.'We ran into each other and had a litte... disagreement. But that doesn't matter. You found me.'

'How could we get that mixed up?' I asked my wolf completely ignoring Chelsea. And what kind of disagreement?

He whined, shaking his head as he turned away from Chelsea to head back to the bundle of scents.'I don't know.'

We quickly circled back around and my wolf carefully sniffed over the potent smells. This time taking as long as he wanted to pick out the right scent trail.

My wolf became agitated, snarling while he shoved his nose closer to the ground.

Eventually, we ended up following each and every trail before we found Ferrum.

Back at the house.

She also seemed agitated about something, she paced. Wrung her fingers together while her eyes were glazed over, she must have been deep in conversation with her wolf.

Since Ferrum was a part of our pack officially we nor any of our pack members could mind-link with her. Not until she it ceremonially brough in the pack.

" Ferrum, why did you come back here? You were supposed to be hiding in the woods." I approached her and she immediately bristled.

" I came back because you seemed pretty occupied with Chelsea." She spat, she hands now fists at her side. The emotion of jealousy seeping out of her.

" What?  Nothing happened between Chelsea and me, Ferrum." I went to grab her hand but she pulled it away.

" Funny, cause I'm pretty sure I seen you two together. Her on top of you and you just sitting there letting her do whatever she wanted! Hell, you even smell like her." She shouted, earning us a few prying eyes.

" That was a misunderstanding... I thought she was you!" I ground out. I glanced around us before I grabbed her hand and pulled her into the packhouse, up the stairs and into her room." Don't I get a chance to explain?"

Then I thought about it. My wolf and I couldn't even pick her scent out from Chelsea's and I had just blurted it out to her.

Ferrum balled her hands up into fists and walked away. Just walked away without saying anything.

Fuck, I thought.

'Give her some room. Talk to her later.' My wolf suggested.

And I listened.
