Aiden
When we were running through the meadow my wolf was going crazy.
He followed her scent. It went in every direction. Left, right, running ahead and then turning back. She'd made it hard but not difficult... not until she seemed to disappear completely. There was no sign of her.
My beast became impatient. He frantically looked around the area he was in, currently we were heading toward rushing water but he thought against crossing. Irritated and vex howls bellowed out from his throat.
We searched every square inch of the area we were in... crossing the stream was the only other option.
When we did the softly falling snow covered any tracks that could have led us to her. Except the thick trails that led toward the water fall. There the snow was thickest where the powder cracked off the mountain and landed in piles.
There we seen trails, wide like something ran through them... someone like our mate. He pushed off the ground without a thought. His paws throwing him forward with incredible speed. Up and over little and big rocks. Into the back of the water fall to a small indent on the stones.
She was there. Seemingly lost in thought until she heard our talons slap the cool rock.
She was happy... more than that. Glad we found her even if it took so long.
The moon behind me lit her bright golden eyes, the ones that traveled over my trashed frame.
She was a mess aswell but seeing the extent she went to just to make it hard on me... extremely hard on me. It made me ecstatic. I wanted so badly to make her mine in that moment. To mark and seal half the deal and my wolf growled in agreement.
He flashed a sloppy wolfy grin at our mate when he heard a squeak come from her... she was laughing.
No doubt her human side was aswell. I wished I could of heard it. I imagined it was angelic like... like a soft lullaby being hummed by her.
I approached. She stood, shook, and walked to me with elegant strides. She bumbed her head into mine and we took a moment to nuzzle each other.
My tongue flopped out and rolled over her dirty face. The short tressed on her face was stuck in blocks of mudd. Using our teeth we gently pulled them loose then continued grooming her.
She began to do the same. At times our tongues slid against one another while we switched from side to side.
Suddenly, through our silent grooming session, I felt her teeth softly bite one of my ears and pull. Wide eyed I watched as the female ran off out of the cavern. I ran, of course. Having been away from her for so long bothered my wolf.
At last, we caught up. She was standing in a shallow part of the stream. Water flooded past her, washing whatever dirt that was on her mid leg away.
A bath.
The biting cold snuffed it's way through our coat and I knew she felt it aswell. Then again she did live out here so she might have been used to it.
Stepping further into the water she coaxed me with her tail to join. And I did without a second thought.
Our matted fur both came clean after a short time.
In the shallows once again the she-wolf playfully kicked water at me, it slapped me right in the face. My wolf pounced. Knocking her into the water while he bit her scruffs. High-spirited growls and snarl filled the air as they wrestled back and forth.
She was a slippery wolf, our mate. Even when we had her pinned she always found a way to get out of our grasp.
Many times she had put me on my back. Something no one had done before. Dominance was a sure thing that rippled off me but she also had it, that I learned fast.
The last time she put me on my back was the last. She growled, ensuring I remained still. Her nose dipped into my neck, pressing softly into the flesh... her teeth scraped the skin before she ripped herself off of me.
My wolf was stuck on his back, somewhat shocked by what happened. What almost happened.
We heard a whine.
Rolling onto his side my wolf gazed at her, she shook her head as she paced. She'd been forced to stop, she wanted to mark us but again her human side wouldn't allow it
Trotting over to where she was we nuzzled her side, persuading her to lie down with us. Curling into a ball she huffed out a warm breath, we lay beside her with our head resting softly over her back.
Ignoring the electricity that coursed between us, my wolf closed his eyes. Comforting his mate in a time of war, a war between herself and her other side.

We lie there for what seemed like forever. Nuzzling, licking, and nipping our mate with a determination to get them both on the same side. It would happen. Whether it be in a short span of time or a longer one.
I hated to interrupt my wolf in a time of complete jovial but we needed to speak to our father, the alpha.
We needed him to know we'd found the one... the only wolf that would fill the hole within us.
Reluctantly, he stood. We heard a whine as our body left hers to the cold. She didn't want us to leave... if only we could tell her, tell her that I had someone forcibly being pushed on me. That I needed to convince someone she was worthy, beyond worthy of filling the Luna place, and that I would fight with everything in me to have her as my own.
My wolf whimpered in the knowledge that we needed to leave now. He nuzzled her once more before leaving, his chest tightened with a mournful feeling. The hole within being dug once more.
