Ferrum
As I was sprinting through the forest looking for a place to hide from Aiden the bitch ran in front of me.
Chelsea.
Her wolf was smaller than mine and a light grey color in which helped her blind in with the snow.
Her lips flipped back as she growled at me, for a second I was confused but when she made the attempt to pound I shifted into a new gear.
My wolf's fur bristled and I returned her growl with a loud snarl of my own.
I lowered my body into a fighting stance and we began circling one another, our jaws snapping and spit flying out of our mouths.
I made the first move and lunged, successfully biting down on her left shoulder. The taste of blood flooded my senses and I crunched down harder onto her flesh.
Hell, we'd just started and she was already cowering away from me. She managed to get out of my grip only because I graced it to her. I went back to growling while she retreated.
I watched with a unsatisfied feeling in my gut.
Why start something if you can't finish it?
With our little ordeal out of the way I went back to the game.
Running in different directions but ending back up where I'd fought with Chelsea.
I could still smell her clear as day when I finally chose a way to go but I didn't worry about it. I figured Aiden would easily pick her our of the jumbled scents.
And boy was I right.
I was perched up on a rock over looking a small clearing not to far from where I left the puzzle for my mate, my wolf and I began to grow impatient with Aiden when he hadn't shown in a while.
'What's taking so long?' My wolf, who was all for the game when Aiden brough it up, grumbled. She became restless. Started pacing around until she was fed up with waiting.
'Maybe we should wait a little longer.' I told my wolf. She was oddly out of character right now. Even though I suggested something to her she didn't seem to hear me.
With me in the backseat my wolf returned to where our tangled scent was.
Instantly, Aiden's fragrance flooded her sense of smell and she began trotting toward where he'd ran off too. Her tail wagged uncontrollably until she caught sight of our mate.
Her ears flattened against her head and she let out a soft whine.
Off in the distance was Aiden and another she-wolf. Chelsea. He was on the ground with her nuzzling and licking all over his face.
He didn't move.
Didn't shove her away but just laid there and let it happen.
Again our fur stood on end and she was ready to march over there but I managed to stop her. Told her to turn back around and go to the packhouse.
She did. With much reluctance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After a heated conversation with Aiden I walked to the kitchen for lunch. Once I had my plate of food I walked to an empty table off in a corner of the dining hall.
Out of my 2 days being here I'd made no friends. Everyone either kept their distance or ignored me completely.
I took my fork and twisted it in my spaghetti, taking the bite I chewed slowly. Although the food was good I honestly wasn't in the mood for eating.
