"Hey, Fuli, are you ready for morning patrol?"
"Of course, Beshte." Fuli said with her usual cheesy smile.
They started their daily shift, everything was fine, like every morning, untill they got to a gazelle heard, the gazelle's where all panicked.
"Hey, gazelle's, calm down, what happened?" Fuli asked.
"Three more of our gazelle's are missing."
"Do you have any idea of where they would be?" Fuli asked.
"All we found was this trail of blood, it continues towards The Outlands."
"What do you think, Ono? Hyenas?" Fuli turned to the egret who sat on Beshte's back.
"Could be, but if you think about it, it's always three animals, no matter what herd, it's always three." Ono said.
"Are there any phsyco animal who has a fetish for the number "three" or what's your point?" Bunga asked.
"I have been studying the wolves in The Outlands, you know those who always hunt in The Backlands, and they are always hunting in groups of three, so there's always more wolves back at the turf in case something would happen." Ono said.
"So? Janja and his hyenas are usually hunting in three." Fuli said.
"Yes, but they're sometimes more than three, and I happened to hear from Zazu when he arrived with the morning patrol to The King, that Dahabu have been losing less animals than ever the past weeks, and since that's the herd that the wolf pack usually target..."
"...They have started to hunt in The Pridelands." Fuli ended Ono's sentence.
"Why would they do that?" Bunga was confused.
"I don't know, but we can't judge them for it before we know for sure, someone's have to stay up tonight." Fuli said.
"Good idea, Fuli, the question is just who." Ono said.
It was quiet for a few moments, no one wanted to, it would be awfully cold, and the one who would stay up would be really tired during the next day.
"I'll do it." Fuli said at last.
"Are you sure?" Beshte asked.
"Yeah, I mean, someone's gotta do it." Fuli shrugged.
They continued to patrol, they were at The Pridelands border now, Fuli looked at The Outlands, she remembered the battle, Kion vs. The King. Kion didn't stand a chanse, but at least Simba had heart enough to not kill him, on one agreement; that Kion would go somewhere far away and never return. Fuli did actually miss him, he were always so optimistic, even though no one in The Pridelands liked him, Fuli had never understood why, but she wasn't surprised that he chose to attack his father, he couldn't care less if he died, he had nothing to lose, she's just glad he's alive, or, from what she can assume, he should be able to live on his own and maybe start an own pack one day. Beshte got her out of her thoughts.
"Fuli, you coming?" He asked.
"Ye, I'm coming." She said, still looking at The Outlands.
"You miss Kion, don't you?"
"*sigh* Yeah... I just wish that people could accept him, that he never even needed to leave." Fuli looked down in the ground.
"C'mon, Fuli, you know it was the right thing, he was a phsyco." Fuli looked up, surprised that Beshte could even say such a thing about his former friend.
"Yeah, screw him, Fuli." Bunga said.
"Screw him?" He was your best friend." Fuli snapped.
Bunga was thinking about saying something but Fuli cutted him off before he even opened his mouth.
"He was your best fucking friend, your G, your bro, and all you have to say is "screw him"? Fuck you, Bunga." Fuli snapped, she was furious.
"He attacked his father, my step brother, your king." Bunga snapped back.
"Maybe he had a reason, what could that be? Oh, maybe revenge?" Fuli said sarcastically.
"Let's just all calm down." Beshte tried.
"Fuck you, Beshte, fuck "calm down" and everything it fucking stands for." Fuli said, she ran off in anger.
When she were at a decent distance, she let the tears flow down, how could they say so about him? They were false, real friends would feel bad for him, they would miss him, but they weren't.
