Chapter 3: The abusive relationship

Kion waked up, it was a new day, he saw the sun shine into the den. When he got up and walked out of the den he was immediately greeted by Sergey.

"Kion, good morning, did you sleep well?" He asked.

"Yeah, and you?"

"I haven't slept tonight, me and Theo has been trying to solve a problem." Sergey said.

"What's the matter, maybe I can help." Kion said.

"Jasiri and her hyenas are getting closer to our turf every day, we don't know why, but it's a big problem since you could get exposed if she sees you." Sergey explained.

"Well... We could do like this, let's start chaos somewhere far away from our den, Jasiri is 100% going to try to help, and when she does, we lead her and her hyenas astray, then they wouldn't be able to find a way back." Kion said.

"Great idea, me and some other wolves will prepare for the trap, in the mean time, you're free to do whatever you'd like." Sergey said.

"Ok, see ya, Sergey."

Kion went to find Vitani, but he had Sergeys words in caution. "Jasiri and her hyenas are getting closer every day." Kion really didn't understand why she would do that, but she had a reason, that's for sure, he just needed to be more careful where he went so he didn't bump into Jasiri's clan. After five minutes of walking he arrived at Zira's den.

"Kion, welcome." Zira said.

"Hi, have you seen Vitani?" Kion asked.

"She's in the den with some other lion, I think his name is Amos." Zira said.

"Ok?" Kion was confused, but he walked into their den.

"Vitani?"

"Oh, hi, Kion, I have just waited for you to arrive so you can greet my new boyfriend." Vitani said.

"What? Do you have a new boyfriend, but what about me? Aren't I good enough?" Kion asked.

"Don't be sad, Kion, you're still my boyfriend, but he's my favorite." Vitani said, she knew those words would hurt Kion's feelings.

"Yeah, great..." Kion said and tried to hold the tears in.

"However, Kion, you can get lost, I'll come to your den if I wanna spend time with you, wich is gonna be tonight, but see ya, slug." Vitani laughed.

When Kion was walking back he was thinking, Vitani wasn't better than The Pridelanders, but he still loved her, or did he? Maybe he should break up with her, maybe that would be the best thing to do, he was so confused, but he didn't have so much time to think before he was back at the den and Oscar greeted him. 

"Good morning, bro." Oscar said. 

"Sup?" Kion smiled, but Oscar could se the sad look in his eyes.

"Is something wrong?" 

"No, why would it be?" Kion tried, but Oscar saw straight through that lie.

"C'mon, Kion, you can tell me anything." Oscar said.

"*sigh* It's Vitani, she has another boyfriend apparently." Kion looked down in the ground.

"Oh... I... I'm sorry, Kion." Oscar comforted.

"Don't be, it's not your fault."

"But I still feel bad for ya." Oscar said.

"It's ok, Oscar." 

"I sure hope so, but however, you haven't been eating breakfast today." Oscar said.

"Yeah, I'm a lion, I only eat once per week, remember?" Kion smirked.

"Right, damn, it'll take some time before I get used to your eating habits." Oscar chuckled.

Kion also laughed. It felt better to laugh and forget about all the misery. Then Kion knew what he were gonna do for the rest of the day, just hang out with Oscar, just have fun and race, wrestle, and just chill, what a perfect day.

"Hey, Oscar, let's go to a place, it's perfect for just having fun, you know." Kion said.

"You got it, lead the way." Oscar smirked.

They arrived at a flat place surrounded by hills, it looked like they were inside a bowl. Perfect to wrestle. After a few hours they were both really tired, so they got up on one of the hills.

"Oh, man, I'm completely exhausted." Oscar panted.

"Me too." Kion laughed.

Kion could see his former home from here, he looked at Pride Rock with disgust.

"I know what you're thinking, Kion, and I'm thinking of the exactly same thing." Oscar said.

"Yeah, since my dad killed your parents, I can understand your thirst for revenge." Kion said without taking his eyes from Pride Rock.

"They hadn't even done anything." Oscar's eyes narrowed as he looked at Pride Rock.

"I know, don't worry, you'll get your revenge, just as me." Kion smiled.

"So are you gonna follow us on a hunt tonight, and maybe get rid of one of the royal family members?" Oscar asked.

"I'd like to, but I can't tonight, Vitani wanted to hang out." Kion said.

"Right..." Oscar said, Vitani actually wanted to hang out with Kion? That was new, of course he were glad for Kion, it just seemed odd. The rest of the day passed on and it was time for hunting, so Oscar, Theo and Stefanie went to The Pride Lands, Oscar had a really bad feeling about something, like something was going to happen this night, or at least very soon, but he tried to shook it off.
