Izuku swayed from side to side, severely intoxicated from drinking too much after being forced into a competition by Setsuna and Neito, which had consisted of downing a few dozen soju bottles all by himself. It was a feat that he could even walk at the moment, but he had requested to leave individually even in his particularly inebriated state.

His cheeks were flushed from the cold and the drinks together, making them light up a bright red, and his throat was dry from all the alcohol that had passed to his stomach, especially after vomiting several times.

He had still won the competition, though, and that was all that mattered to him. He could get quite competitive at times, and his drunken state only further emphasized that particular trait of his.

As the greenette arrived on a bridge, his muddled mind suddenly urged him to do something reckless just for fun, and he found himself on the bars on the side soon after, balancing himself reflexively even with his half-aware state, and with a wide sloppy smile plastered on his face with every exaggeratedly wide step he took.

It was extremely lucky of him not to fall, but he managed to somehow make his way through the narrow road he had decided to take without tripping. He had certainly stumbled a few times, but his honed reflexes had kept him on his feet, which he would have certainly been thankful for, if he hadn't drunk enough to completely wipe out his memory of the whole night, and he was currently in a sober state, that is.

Just as he had hopped off the narrow bars, his eyes met with the wonderful sight of a full moon shining upon the river beneath him, and he stopped. His eyes stayed glued on the view as if he couldn't tear his haze away, and he stayed like that for a full ten minutes before he even blinked.

The night view was indeed beautiful: because of the moon, the stars at a certain direction we're completely invisible, not that that was a bad thing. The bright full moon covered a small part of the sky, shining a bright shimmery white colour. The moonlight hit the lake, creating a clear reflection, and a pathway to the moon could clearly be seen on the surface of the water.

It wasn't snowing for some reason, and yet Izuku didn't mind at all. He felt that the stunning view would be dimmed if the snow intercepted the sole natural satellite of the planet he lived in.

His disconcerted thoughts ran wild in his mind, and he found himself seeing a round-shaped block of cheese instead of the moon. His mouth watered instinctually,  and he licked his lips lightly, his raspy tongue not doing much to wet his chapped lips.

His stomach growled right at that moment, and he glanced away towards his stomach, a scowl on his face.

"You still have the guts to talk after ingesting so much meat and alcohol?" He scolded his stomach, words slurred slightly die to his numb tongue, and eyes unfocused, slipping away from their target every so often.

A couple that passed him just then sent him an odd glance, but he didn't bother to retort to them, instead choosing to continue his way home, intent on going to bed as fast as he could. He knew he would be waking up with a terrible hangover the next day, yet he couldn't bring himself to care. All he wanted was some rest.

Izuku hummed a few Christmas Carols he had heard from the church near his house when he was young, and his smile widened, his mood shifting from tired to excited in the span of a second.

He continued humming until he reached the doorstep of his house, and fumbled with his pocket to take out his keys, only succeeding after several tried due to seeing double and his hands being too frozen to work properly.

As soon as the door opened, he walked inside and slammed it shut after him, then went to the living room, throwing himself on the couch and immediately falling asleep, not bothering to change his clothes first.

He was way too tired for that shit.

An hour or so later, he was awoken by a tap on his shoulder, and groggily raised his head. His still sleepy eyes caught onto a  purple blur, and he understood that Hitoshi had arrived home.

"Welcome home," he muttered in a low voice, coughing a few times, then pushing himself up with great effort, then standing up to retrieve a glass of water for his dry throat.

He heard a hum of agreement, then another noise of acknowledgement, meaning Katsuki was there as well.

He leaned on the counter as he watched his two brother figures stumble around, Katsuki a lot less balanced than Hitoshi, and chuckled quietly.

It seemed that Class 1-A wasn't very upright, even with Iida being there. Turning around, he grabbed two other cups, and after filling them with water from the glass jug on the side, he approached the two who were now spread across the couch he was previously occupying, looking every bit as exhausted as he felt.

As soon as he handed the cups over, the two teenagers simultaneously chugged them down within a second, letting out satisfied sighs afterwards. Izuku merely took away the cups, placing to the table at the side, then draping himself on top of the two, emitting annoyed groans from both of them.

"Izuku, ger'off!" Katsuki mumbled, swatting at his feet on top of him in slow motion, while Hitoshi just shoved his arms away without a word, making Izuku smile at their antics.

Whenever the two were drunk, they became incredibly different from their sober selves.

Katsuki turned into a touchy-feely ten-year-old, while Hitoshi became completely silent, committing not a single word until he was sober again.

With a wide yawn, Izuku let sleep take him to its arms, having no more energy to move a single finger anymore.

Before he did so, though, he mumbled something that neither of the other two caught.

"Happy New Year. I love you both."

And so they spent the next if their hours entangled on the couch, blissfully asleep, just like a true family.

One did not need blood ties to have a family, after all.

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you enjoyed this chapter because I am currently writing this at 3 a.m. and my mind isn't working anymore. I have no energy left to proofread, so I hope you all will ignore my mistakes. It's all the fault of autocorrect.

Once again, have an amazing New Year!

With best regards,
