Lucien's POV

"Wait up." I heard Londyn yell

"What's up?"

"Do you wanna surprise Louise in Hawaii on Saturday. We'll leave Friday and show up when she competes. Her teammate sent me the time of her heat."

"If your parents don't mind. I'll just have to talk to my uncle."

"Cool plane takes off at 8 so meet here at 7. You'll probably have to room with our cousin Roman at the beach house we have. But I assure you he's good people. And if it helps I can have mom call Raph since they're besties."

"Yeah that'll be great actually. Is your dad okay with this?" I asked slightly scared

"I don't think he knows. Mom told me to invite you."

"Cool."

"Drive safe!" she told me

"Thanks."

Friday

We're all here on the plane and if I'm being honest I would rather swim there. At least if I did that there wouldn't be 3 people glaring at me. What's even worse is that her whole family will be at the beach house when we land

"So Lucien are you going to college?"

"Yeah, I'm gonna major in pharmaceutical sciences."

"Cause your family owns that company?" Lucas asked

"Yeah." I felt slightly irritated

I chose my major because I want to make medicine and cures for affordable prices. My parents only care about money so they overcharge. We have life saving medicines and they think $500 insulin is reasonable while under paying our employees. V Biotech are leaders in the industry because they cater to all including low income.

"What do you wanna do with that?" Londyn asked

"I wanna create medicine. I also happen to be good at math and sciences."

"Don't you wanna take over?" Mr. Knight asked

"Not really, but I have to. So the plan is to work in the labs for a couple years then take over."

"You don't like your family's company?" Mrs. Knight asked

"Not at all. It caters to the wealthy even though they have access to everything they need. Dropping the prices to our medicines wouldn't cripple us. I've done the math. My parents are money grabbers with no redeemable qualities. You'd think with what we charge for medicine our employees wouldn't need second jobs."

"That's how you talk about your family?" Liam judged

"Not everyone has great parents like you." I retorted

"I think your parents company needs someone like you in charge." Mr. Knight told me

"Thanks."

"So are you an athlete?" Londyn asked lightening the mood

"Yeah, he's the star player on the basketball team." Lucas answered

"But you just moved here?"

"Yeah at the end of last school year." Liam answered

"Do you have the opportunity to play in college?" Mrs. Knight asked

"Yeah I do but I haven't decided yet."
