Chapter 40

Louise's POV

It's Friday morning and I'm not particularly excited for school. After what happened yesterday with Lucien I just wanna lay in my bed. A huge plus is that dad is letting Amelia spend the weekend.

He's going away for a business meeting in Florida which means we have the house to ourselves

You can already guess that Liam is throwing a party that I'm not cleaning up afterwards

We tell dad bye and get out of the car

"Don't forget to give Coach Winston the forms." He tells Londyn

"I won't." she responds

We wished him a safe trip one last time before he drove off

"Why are you giving your old coach forms?" I asked her

"Oh you didn't hear? Daddy's little girl is running relays again. She even managed to become captain." Liam said

"You're fucking unbelievable all that bullshit about running for me but you're trying to compete for his attention again?"

"It wasn't bullshit and I'm not competing with you."

"Because she already has his attention." Lucas chimed in

"Those aren't my intentions!" She whispered while looking at the crowd forming around us

"You're a fucking bitch and an attention whore!" I told her and walked away

I could hear people laughing but I didn't care she's always trying to one up me. She fast enough to compete in the Olympics as well but that was never her dream. She's trying to steal mine away

"That was quite the show. I thought you and her were close." Jonah said

"Don't feel bad for her she'll live. And we're not close because she's a backstabbing validation seeking bitch."

"I could've told you that. There's a reason everyone hates her."

"She's loved by all." I scoffed

"Wow you really don't care about her." he laughed and I glared

"Let me fill you in. She used to be miss popular but then she outed someone to gain validation from her teammates. It backfired because everyone turned on her. You're actually more liked than your garbage sister."

"Well now I feel less bad about yelling at her in front of everyone. I'm done caring about sparing her feelings when she never considers mine. And if she wants my dad's attention I'm not gonna give it to her."

"I love to see it. She deserves that and then some." he laughed

"Exactly." I shrugged

I worked so hard for years so dad would notice me and she knew that. But given that she's starved for attention, she couldn't let dad give me an ounce of the attention he shows her. Now that I'm finally on his radar she thinks she can come in and take it but unfortunately for her, she's got another thing coming

"Moving on. I don't know what you told Lucien yesterday but it worked."

"What do you mean?"

"He means I did all my homework, showered, ate, and got out of bed this morning." a deep voice spoke behind me

"Oh you're here, I'm glad you're feeling better Lucien." I told him coldly

"Please don't be like that Princess, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean any of that and I was in a bad place. I don't deserve your forgiveness but I really want it." he cooed in my ear and hugged me from behind
