Chapter 64

Londyn's POV

I'm getting dressed after a grueling track practice. I took a quick shower so I wouldn't be all sweaty at work

"Hey Londyn!" I hear someone call my name

"Yeah" I looked up seeing the juniors on the team staring at me

"You and Jonah seem close. Are you two sleeping together?"

As subtle as a bull in a china shop

"Not at all. Jonah and I are just friends."

"Stop fucking lying! We see how close you two are. He doesn't wanna date me and it's obvious you're in his ear poisoning my image!" Tabitha spat

"Jonah is a man whore. I'm sorry if he led you on or got your hopes up but him rejecting you is not my doing. He's not someone interested in being in a relationship." I told her

"If you truly aren't sleeping with him you should have no issue backing off from Jonah. As I see it, I can't get close to him if you're taking up all his free time."

"But why would I do that for you? You've been nothing but a bitch to me. I also owe you nothing. If Jonah isn't interested in you, I doubt more one on one time will change that." I pushed past them

It's already been two weeks since they started sleeping together. It clearly has nothing to do with me but she's too stupid to realize.

"I'll spread a nasty rumor about you guys. Rumors ruin friendships you know?"

"Go right ahead." I shrugged

After I grabbed my backpack I left and started my commute to work on foot

I jump at the sound of someone honking their horn

"Get in jackass!" Jonah pulls over

"Look dude I'm good!"

"Why are you walking? It's hot as shit and you hate the sun."

"Why are you so eager to drive me?"

"Because you're my friend and we work together!"

Since Dewy is always out of the shop I convinced him to hire Jonah so he can watch the shop while I work on commission pieces. It's really fun working with him and I appreciate the extra help.

"Fine but only cause it's hot." I hopped in the passenger side

The drive was nice and quiet. I'm honestly exhausted from school, track, work, and all the overtime I'm putting into making Max's boards. If it were summer vacation I'd have finished much faster but it was hard to juggle everything

"So why are you crossed with me?"

"I'm not crossed." I lied

"Yeah, you are. We're usually joking around and laughing up a storm but right now you're ignoring me."

"I'm just feeling super overwhelmed by life and now I have to deal with additional drama since the girl on the team think I'm the reason you won't date Tabitha."

"Well in part you are."

"What do you mean?" I asked

"I can justify sleeping with her cause I'll just dispose of her like the condoms we use. But dating her would be a whole different ballgame. She has done and said awful things to you. So how could I call myself your best friend if I went on to date her? I don't date because it's too much drama but if I were to date it would never be a bully like Tabitha."

"Well then you gotta explain that or date her. There's no in between."

"She's an awful person who only wants to date me because I'm just as popular as she is. She has this whole high school cliche planned out in her tiny delusional head."
