(Serena's POV) Next day...

I got to class extra early, I had to lie to my chauffeur that I was going to help the teacher with something and that it was top secret. I'll remember to tell Dawn she owes me one for everything I'm doing to get her together with Ash.

Greating the teacher and smiling widely before speaking, "So, er- I was wondering if maybe I could...switch partners with Dawn.."

Theteacher blinked acouple of times before speaking up, "Why's that? Ash might not be the best partner but he's a really nice boy when you get to know him."

"Well i guess I just prefer working with someone I know." I looked down at the floor, closed my eyes, and sighed before looking back up at him. "Please?"

"I'm sorry, Serena, but I can't just switch you." 

"I-I understand, it doesn't hurt to try.." I smile weakly at him before turning around and head outside to greet Dawn.

"Hey!" Dawn came up to me cheerfully, once she got to school. "How long have you been here?"

"Not long." I crack a smile.

"So what did the teacher say? You did ask him, right?"

"Yeah, I did...but he said, no. Sorry," I look towards the ground not wanting to see her face. What if she got mad at me? What if she didn't believe me? What if sh-

"Well, at least you tried. Thanks Serena, you're a great friend!" She smiles brightly at me and quickly hugs me before pulling me inside the building.

"Like I said yesterday, today we will be starting the project." The teacher announces, I glance over at Dawn. She didn't look sad nor mad, no wonder why she's my best friend. Always so happy and hyper. "Now will you please get into your partners."

Everyone stands up and goes to their partner, I take a deep breath before walking over to Ash.

"Hey," I manage to whisper as the teacher tells people where to sit.

"Hi," he doesn't even look at me, talk about rude!

We stay in this akward silence the rest of the time until the teacher comes over to us and puts us to work on a table. 

"You two will be thinking of what kind of vegitables you want to plant. for extra credit you could plant some flowers. Like I said yesterday, you will have to buy the seeds but all the rest of the materials and whatever you will need to grow a garden will be provided for you." with that he lets us start working.

"Class time is almost over." The teacher warns us. Ash and I barely talked to each other, writing our ideas on a piece of paper. "You will need the seeds by tomorrow, I recomend you to buy them right after school so none of you forget to buy them. Better if you buy them with your partner so you know precisely what kind of seeds you both want."

"I can go buy them by myself todayafter school so don't worry about it." I stand up and collect my notebook and pencil.

"I can go with you, if you want." This time he looks at me.

"Sure, if you want to come with me then I'm fine with that." I grin but look away from him.  "After school by the gate." He nods, the bell rings and I leave the classroom.

******* (Ash's POV) After school...

"I waited for Serena by the gate."  Man that girl takes forever, wait what if she left already? No she couldn't have, right? I turn to start walking think she had already left but a certian someone caught my attention.

"What the heck? *pant* I-I told you to wait for me." She said between breaths.

"Well in my defense, i just started walking." I shrug.

"But if i wouldn't of gotten here you would of left!" She stomps off murmuring to herself. She's weird...

"It's not my fault you take so long, I started thinking you were the one who had already left." I say as I walk a few steps behind her just in case she decides to smack me or smething. You never know with this girl.

"Excuses excuses. Lets just go already."

We got to the store and picked out some tomato and cucumber seeds. We also got some candy for ourselves.

Walking towards Serena's house I suddenly remembered something... "Shoot, I forgot my math homework!"

Serena stopped walking, "You can use my math book..but I also need to do my math homework."

"What am I suppose to do now? Ugh, I'm so stupid." I facepalm myself.

"Hey what if I go to your house?" she asks me.

"You sure about that?" 

"Yeah, we can do our math homework together." she smiles kindly.

"O-Okay then.."

We walk towards my house in silence.

Opening my house door I yell, "I'm home!"  I take my shoes off, Serena does the same. 

"Welcome home Ash." My mom walks up to me. "Oh and who is this pretty young lady?"

"This is Serena." I half smile.

"I finally get to meet your girlfriend!" I female voice squels from behind my mom.

"Girlfriend?" Serena asks confused.
