(Ash's POV)

After the track meeting I packed my things into my backpack and left the school building. Seeing as nobody was waiting for me I push the whole note things aside and make my way towards my house.

"Ash welcome back sweetheart," my mom greeted me when I entered the kitchen for a snack.

"Hey mom," I grab an apple and wash it before taking a hite out of it. "Where's May?"

"Oh she went over to a friend's houde to work on a project," my mom replied.

"So I can actually do my homework in peace?" I take another bite of the apple.

"Hahaha very funny," my mom nudges me in the shoulder.

"I have lots of homework so I'm going to do that after I take my shower," I walk out of the kitchen but am stopped by my mom.

"Hey Ash," she looks over at me. "How's the whole Serena thing going?"

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"Well it has been a long time since you talked about her, I just thought I could get a bit of an update on how you two are doing?"

"We're not dating, if that's what you want to know. To tell you the truth I haven't talked to her in over 2 weeks." I lean on the door frame.

"Oh, and why's that?" She asks, I give her a shrug and toss away the apple.

"Just forget about it." I smile, "I'm gonna take a shower." I walk out of the kitchen before my mom starts asking further questions on the topic.

"Okay, I'll call you down when dinner is ready so don't take too long in the shower!" She yells from the kitchen.

"That's May who always takes forever in the shower!"

Quickly taking a shower and getting dressed, I get my math homework out and put it on my desk.

I stare at the math problem for a while, not to interested in even doing my homework, suddenly my phone vibrates. I open it to see a message.

Serena 5:27 pm
Hey Ash, I was wondering if you and I could go to a coffee shop on Saturday? You know since we haven't talked in like forever! :D

I don't kbow why hut I haven't deleted her from my contacts, I really don't have a big reason as to why I would. I take a few minutes before replying.

Me 5:32 pm
Sure :)

Quickly receiving a reply from Serena I read the message.

Serena 5:33 pm
It's settled then, we'll meet up at the park by the school at 3 pm and go from there. Is that okay with you?

Me 5:34 pm
Okay I'll be there. Have a good rest of the day.

With that I toss my phone behind me (it lands on my bed) and get back to 'doing' homework. I guess I won't be talking to Serena until Saturday.

(Saturday Morning Serena's POV)

I got up this morning and took a long shower. I love Saturdays they're just so calm, better yet there's no school.

I head down for breakfast eating quickly before excusing myself and heading back to my room. I know I won't see Ash until 3 but I need to see what I'm going to wear, do my make-up, do my hair, but most importantly I have to think of a good way to opiliegize to him. I haven't talked to him in more than 2 weeks! What kind of friend am I? Wait, does he even consider me a friend, I wouldn't blame him if he didnt... Yeah, he can be a bit rude and all but he can also be very nice and be a fun person to hang out with.

Ugh, what to wear?!

A few moments later... (←with a french accent, just like in spongebob)

Looking into the mirror I decide to go with long black socks, black tennis shoes, a red skirt that goes up to my stomach, a black shirt, and a pink hat. (I'm bad at picking out clothes that fits Serena so I just went with her original outfit.)

After going my hair and applying a little bit of make-up I check the clock, it reads 12:56 pm. I've got roughly 2 hours to think of something to tell Ash...

(Ash's POV)

Waking up I notice it's already 12:23 pm...rubbing my eyes and stretching I suddenly relize I was going to meet up with Serena in less than 3 hours! I head towards the bathroom and turn the knob...the door doesn't open. I then hear singing from the inside.

"Pokemon gotta catch them all! It's you am me! POKEMON!"

"May get out of the bathrrom I need to take a shower!" I yell knocking on the door.

"Ha well that's something I never would've thought to here! I guess you've finally realized how much you stick!" She laughs turning the shower off.

"May I took a shower last night so I can't possibly stink!" I roll my eyes.

"Then why do you want to take a shower agian?" May opens the door and peeks out. "Oh don't tell me, you're going tk meet uo with someone...a girl maybe?" She smirks when she sees me back away a little trying to hide the slight tint on my cheeks I know was there.

"Just let me take a shower!" I say while pushing the door open.

"Okay whatever," May steps back making me fall face forward. "Hahaha baka!" She giggles before running out of the bathroom and locking herself into her own  bedroom.

"Twerp," I whisper to myself and close the bathroom door.

After taking my shower I pick out a black undershirt, a blue and white top (vest maybe?) skinny jeans, red with balck shoes, and my favorite red hat.

Going downstairs and into the kitchen I see the time (2:30 pm) "Mom, I'm heading out. I'll be back in a bit." I tell her as she looks up from washing the dirty dishes.

"Now Ash Ketchum I know you're growing up but I must know where you're going and who are you going to see."

"I'm going to a cafe with a friend." I smile and walk out of the kitchen.

"With who?" My mom poo uts her hands on her hips.

"I'm going to meet up with...Serena.." I say sheepishly. "B-but not on a date or anything we're just gonna talk!"

"Don't be shy Ash, I want to meet her one day." She kindly smiles at me before turning around and once again starts washing the dishes.

"I'll be back."

(Still Ash's POV)

I get to the park and sit on a bench, checking my phone I see it's already 2:54 pm. I wonder where she is...

I wait for a while checking my phone every so often...looking at it one last time before leaving I sigh reading out loud the digits "3:59 pm." Getting up from the bench I start walking back to my house, maybe I can go to a friend's house, I think to myself.

"Ash!!!" I hear someone yell my name. Turning around I see Serena running towards me with a very sad expression on her face. When she reaches me she breaths heavily but looks down ar her feet, "Thank... goodness you h-haven't left yet! I'm... SO S-SORRY!" I see tears forming in her eyes. "It's just that-"

"Serena." she looks up at me. "Let's go get something to drink, you can tell me everything once we get there. How 'bout that?"

"Okay..." I hear her sniff. Smiling I grab her wrist and start walking.
