Chapter 5

(Serena's POV)

When I got home I emediatly locked myself in my room not wanting to see ANYONE.

But of course some idiot always has a spare key so they can barge into MY room when I am clearly trying to avoid people.

"Um, excuse me miss but it's time for dinner." Our house butler, I think, speaks up after clearing his throat.

"I'm not very hungry but thank you." I say, my head under a pillow.

"If I may ask, what's wrong?" He says in a worried voice.

"Oh it's nothing, I was just thinking about...stuff." I sit up, my pillow falling onto my lap. "Is it okay if I eat in my room today?" I half smile at him.

"Will your parents be okay with that?"

"I'm sure they will, we don't even talk during dinner anyway." I say getting up, heading towards my desk.

"Yes my lady," and with that he left to go get my dinner. Opening up my laptop I went onto YouTube to see watever there was to see. My phone flashes before I could click on a video, checking it I see a SnapChat from Dawn.

"Hey!" She sent me a selfie.

I faked a smile and took a selfie putting "Hi:)" on it before sending it to her.

Setting my phone down when the house butler knocked telling him to come in. He set the tray of food down, giving me a half smile before exiting. I checked my phone again to see if Dawn messaged back, seeing she had I opened up the message.

Dawn:
I wanted to tell you something. You know that cute boy, oh what's his name..Ash? I think that's his name. Well I think he's really cute and I want to ask him out. What do you think?

Me: 
But you barely know him...

That's all I could really say. Not that i would be agianst Dawn and Ash dating but even if I would've told Dawn that I hate Ash, she wouldn't of listened to me.

Soon I got a responce from her.

Dawn:
Ik but he' super cute. Come on Serena help me out!!

I think about it for a quick second before sighing and responding back.

Me:
Fineee

Dawn:
Thank u!

Me:
Well gtg, I've had a long day. ttyt!

With that I tossed my phone onto my bed and started eating. At least I don't have school tomorrow...

Monday (Ash's POV)

The rest of my weekend wasn't at all exciting. I went home after my encounter with Serena. I haven't talked to my mom about what happened, good thing she hasn't brought up the topic.

I went to my desk as the bell rang and got out my Science folder, notebook, and papers. Setting them all down on my desk I see Serena walking in the classroom and sitting down in her usual spot. Shrugging, i turn my attention to the teacher.

"Okay class, pay close attention. We're going to be pairing up.." I glance over at Clemont before looking back to the teacher.  "We will be planting a vegitable garden!" Most of the class including me groan. "I have aleady assigned everyone a partner." I face palm myself. Great now I have to be with someone the teacher assigns me to, this project can't get any worse can it?! "Partners are... Dawn and May, Paul and Clemont, Misty and Garry, Ash and Serena, Ir-"

"Wait what?!" I interupt him.

"What's wrong Ash?" He asks confused as if he didn't just pair me up with...HER

"Who am I partners with?" I ask all calmed as possible.

"You are with Serena." He smiles kindly. When I thought this project couldn't get any worse..

The rest of the time I put my head down waiting for the teacher to finsih pairing people up. "Tomorrow we will be getting together with your partner but for today we will be talking about the whole process of planting, feeding, and taking care of a garden..."

After school (Serena's POV)

"Serena!!" Dawn ran up to me after class.

"What's up?" I ask already knowing what she wanted to tell me.

"Can we please switch parners. I didn't tell you earlier because I don't want people to know I like Ash until we're dating."

I sigh, "Trust me, I would love to change partners but do you really think the teacher will allow us to switch?"

"It wouln't hurt to try. Come on Serena pleaseeeee!"

"Okay, okay I told you last night I would help you. But you're the one telling the teacher you want to change partners." I give her a warning look.

Ignoring me she starts to whine, "But if I tell the teacher I want to be Ash's partner then he'll suspect something!" 

"Not my problem." I do not want to be Ash's partner but I also don't want Dawn falling for him.

"Don't be that way Serena please?!"

"Okay fine I'll see what I can do." I fake a smile.
