Chapter three

129days before

"Abby. Abby. Wake up you need to take your medicine." Sam called me as I was sleeping.

"Fine." I got out of Hayes' tight grip and got up to take my meds.

"Sorry to wake you two. You both looked so peaceful sleeping together." she whispered to me.

"It's fine. Ya we were watching a movie and I guess we fell asleep together sorry." I said

"No no no. Its all good. I haven't seen you this happy in a while." Sam said.

"Oh thanks?" I said it more like a question.

"I'll leave you both alone. You can go back to sleep." she said and walked out closing the door.

I checked my phone. It was 2:34am.

I crawled into my bed and tried to fall back to sleep.

"Abby?" Hayes said in his hot morning voice.

"Ya?"

"Where did you go?"

"I'm in my bed."

"But I'm lonely."

I sighed and got up and out of my bed. I went to Hayes' bed and sat down at the edge.

"What time is it?" he asked

"2:30 in the morning."

"Ugh." he groaned

"Are you gonna lay down or are you uncomfortable. If your uncomfortable I understand you can go back to your bed." he said in a caring tone.

"No it's fine." I said and laid down on my back at the opposite side of the bed as him.

Awkward silence filled the air between us.

"Can we talk?" I asked

"About what?" he asked

"Well since we're gonna see each other a lot I think we at least need to know what we like, dislike, do, and stuuffffff like dat." I said making him laugh

"Ok I'll go first. Ummm-" I interrupted him.

"Great start!" I said and we both laughed.

"Well thanks its a gift." he said making me laugh so hard I fell off the bed.

I got back up and on the bed as he continued.

"Well my name is Benjamin Hayes Grier, but people call me Hayes. I have 3 siblings Will, he's the oldest, Nash, second oldest, and Skylynn who is the youngest. My parent are divorced. My moms name is Elisabeth and my dads name is Chad. Im the quarter back on my schools football team that my dad coaches. I also am a Famous viner. Will is an almost famous football player. Nash is a very Famous viner. And Sky is a adorable sister. Done! YOUR TURN!!!!" he said

"My name is Abigail Concord, but people call me Abby or Abbs. I have a tumour in my brain. I don't know if I have and brothers or sisters. My parents left me on the day I was born. I was adopted by my nurse Samantha. Sam is my best friend. She is so caring and thoughtful and I love her like a mother. I love Soccer and Football, but I don't play either. I have been in this hospital room for 15years. I have never smelt fresh air or touched a tree. And ya. That's me!" I said smiling.

"Oh.....but how are you smiling?" he asked

We still we not touching each other. He was at one side of the bed I was at the other. we were both looking up at the ceiling.

"I guess I'm use to telling people my story. I have learned not to cry over things that I can't fix. I just need to look on the bright side. I have Sam and her husband and their child. I have them as a family." I said

"Your forgetting someone." He said turning over on his side so he was facing me. I was confused AF.

"Who?" I asked him. I turned onto my side so that we were facing each other.

He started to lean closer to me until our lips were centimetres apart. He sent chills all the way from the top of my head down to my toes.

"Me." he said and got up off of the bed and walked towards the washroom.

"Oh." I said and sat up on his bed collecting my thoughts once again. I think I'm falling for a guy I just met. Is that so bad?
