Burned Out

(Warning! Small amount of abuse and violence, small amounts of gore and blood as well!)

Only around 5 minutes had passed and my peddling had slowed. I had pushed myself a bit too hard as I coughed, jumping when Rei swooped down in front of me.

I held onto the brakes tightly so I wouldn't 'run into him'. More like running through him, I sighed and took deep breaths.

Once I was alright he sat back down in 'his spot' proudly. I smiled gently and shook my head. "So, where are we going, ghost gps?" I teased him. He puffed out his cheeks with a pout and pointed to a path off to the left. I sat up strait and started heading in that direction.

I hummed a song, filling up the quiet space around us. He leaned from side to side, enjoying it. I smiled like an idiot and continued.

The farther down the trail we went, the more open it got. Less trees surrounded the area, more of a grassy area where flowers would thrive during the warmer weather. I looked off to the side, noticing something that seemed out of place. A small cracked up sidewalk leaning down to it.

The area being a empty space that I assumed used to be a playground. The only thing left was a small bench covered in faded graffiti. Rei seemed to notice it as well so we both decided to go and check it out.

We got there and I stood my bike up, walking around the small area. Trees behind the area, closing off the openness, probably due to a neighborhood on the other side.

I walked over to the bench, the poor thing had so much graffiti and so many different names carved into it. I carefully ran my hand over it, not wanting to get any splinters from the rough and chipped surface.

"Hey, do you wanna read some of these names with me.." I trailed off looking to him. He was rooted to the same spot as he stared at something. His hands were visibly trembling.

I followed his gaze to an opening in the mass of trees. A mansion was the only thing in the view, and my eyes widened that was the one from the one dream I had.

I rushed over to him, "Hey, are you alright? That mansion, I've seen it in-" i stoped myself as I looked into his eyes.

Tears gushed down his face and his eyes were hazy, fear evident on his face. He tore his gaze away from it and turned to me. "I..I remember..." He choked out. Then he had explained something that made me sad as well.

His past, he had gained his memory's back. But the thing was, he didn't want them back anymore.

  (Nobody's POV)

In this small town there had been a very rich family that everyone adored. They were the example of a perfect couple, just a husband and his beloved wife. That's was it. Or at least to the public, they had a child. They didn't want the child and didn't want a soul to know about this because if they gave it up for adoption the townspeople would find out. So the couple had to keep it, so they didn't put a crack in their 'perfect' image.

The mansion was quite large, with many rooms. So even if they had guests they wouldn't have to worry about them finding the child.

He was locked in his same room all day long.

His name? It was Rei Hayashida. 'The angel born from monsters.' The house maid had always told him. She was the only living being he saw, she gave him his food, water, and helped him with other things. But she only went there when his parents ordered her to.

She had been the only other person to know of his existence.

He never knew the faces of his parents, that is until that day. At this time he was 12 years of age. It was simple really, his parents were out, the maid recklessly left his door unlocked by accident.
