As soon as Mal heard horseshoes trotting across the grass outside, she ran out the door. "Henry!" She yelled making him look at her in worry.
"Is something wrong? What happened?" He asked her.
"It's that princess! She came here wanting to see you, she's upstairs in my room!" Mal told him.
Henry gave his horse's reins to Mal as he ran into the house to find Evie. He went up the stairs to Mal's room and found her staring out the window hugging her stomach. "Evie! What are you doing here?" He asked.
Evie turned around and she rushed over to him and hugged him. "You're back! I ran away."
"But why?"
"It was my father, I thought he was finally changing his mind about us, so I told him how much I loved you but instead he yelled at me. I had to get out of there, so I came here to see you, but you weren't here." Evie explained as she began to cry on his shirt.
Henry wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him. "I'm sorry I wasn't here. But I'm here now, and you can stay here with us as long as you'd like."
Evie smiled at him. "Thanks."
They went down the stairs and outside as Henry wanted to take Evie for a little ride on horseback. They both got on Henry's horse, as Evie got on behind him, wrapping her arms around Henry. Evie felt free as she and Henry rode together through the woods. The feeling of the wind in her hair never got old. But suddenly she saw her father's guards on their horses coming from behind them and in front of them with Chad leading them all
"Henry? What are we gonna do? We're surrounded." Evie whispered in his ear as they had no choice but to come to a stop.
Henry glanced behind him at Evie as he let out a sigh. "Just hold on." He said before turning his horse to the left and galloping off deeper into the woods, and off the trail. He could hear them all chasing them but he didn't slow down for anything
"Henry! What are we doing!?" Evie asked him.
"I'm not gonna let you get into trouble." He replied.
Evie knew it was a bad idea, they were eventually going to be stopped, and when they were, she knew they were going to turn Henry into her father, and she would never see him again. "Henry, stop!" She yelled.
"What? No! They're gonna take you away!" He yelled.
"Maybe so, but please. I can't let them take you away." Evie said.
Henry closed his eyes as he brought his horse to a stop once again and the king's guards surrounded them pointing their spears at him. "Let the princess go now!" Chad yelled at him. Evie kissed Henry's cheek before getting off the horse and walking to Chad. "Now get off your horse!"
Henry did as he was told and guards grabbed a hold of his arms. "Chad! Don't do this! This is the man I love!" Evie yelled out desperately.
"Princess, I'm just doing what your father has told me. I have to bring him to your father." Chad told her.
"Please! I am begging you!" Evie cried.
Chad stared into Evie's brown eyes that were begging for him to do as she said. "Let him go." He told the guards before he stepped towards Henry keeping his hand on his sword. "You are to stay away from the princess and never see her again. I am letting you go, so do as I say."
Henry nodded before getting back on his horse and galloping back to the farm. Chad got on his own horse as well and pulled Evie up so she could sit behind him. Evie watched Henry gallop off in the opposite direction, sadly. She didn't know if she would ever see him again. But she was forced to look away when Chad took her back to the castle.
Henry, when he made it back to the farm, put his horse back in the barn as he sadly went up to his bed in the loft. He knew that was probably the last time he would ever see Evie. She was the love of his life, his true love. And they would never be together. And it broke his heart.
All he wanted was to be with her, and her with him. But it just wasn't meant to be, he guessed. Evie was being forced to marry Chad without her having a say in any of it. None of it was fair. To him, or her. And they both absolutely hated it.

When Chad had brought Evie back to the castle, the guards led her to her father who was in the throne room, sitting on his throne. She could tell that he was furious. But of course he would be, she had run away, and to the man she was forbidden to see.
"Genevieve, what have I told you about running off?!" He yelled at her.
"Daddy, I had to!"
"No, you did not! You have no excuse as to why you should have done that!" He continued yelling. "I know you went to see that poor boy. Chad, where is he?"
Chad stood up a little straighter as he took a step closer to the king. "He got away, your majesty."
Evie saw her father's face turn red as he heard those words come from the prince's mouth. "He what!"
"He got away." Chad repeated.
The king slammed his fist down on his throne. "Find him! And don't stop until you do!" He commanded him. Chad nodded before walking out of the throne room. And the king turned his attention back to Evie. "And don't think I'm done with you. You will be marrying Chad in two weeks, and become the next King and Queen of Dawnessburg. There's no getting out of it, so don't even try."
Evie sent her father a glare before she stormed out of the throne room and to her bedroom. Her father was so unfair, by forcing her to get married to a man she didn't love in only two weeks. She cried into her pillow. All she wanted was to marry Henry, and live happily ever after. But her father was the one standing in their way. She knew she still had to find a way to get her father to change his mind.
