The night has finally, or unfortunately, arrived. Tonight, a lot of people's lives are gonna change. Including ours.

I barely slept last night. My thoughts kept me awake, constantly contradicting each other. It's like my mind still can't decide what to do.

I never believed in such thing as a little angel and devil on your shoulders, telling you the benefits of both decisions you can make. I always believed there was no angel in sight on my shoulder, the devil conquered it long before I could even realize it. But this is the first time that little angel keeps whispering in my ear, telling me I'm throwing away something good. A life with a decent education, amazing friends and a boy who loves me more than everything. It's a good life, and I don't know if I wanna waste it for my mother, who has never once done something that could be beneficial to me. No, everything she did was for her own good.

But then the devil appears again, telling me I'm not just doing this for my mother. I'm doing this for every single soul that never had the chance to prove themselves, to show what they're actually capable of doing, without being hold back by others who can decide if they're worth being part of society or not. Souls that got punished for things they had nothing to do with, and have never felt real, warm sunshine on their bodies. Souls like us.

I know I have to do this. I do. But why do I keep having to remind myself of that?

Slowly I take the dress I bought recently out of the clothing bag. It's the fanciest piece of clothing I've ever hold in my hands, with probably the highest price tag. I slowly let the silky material glide over my body, the dress fits perfectly.

"Teena, can you zip up my dress? I can't reach the back." I leave our improvised dressing room, also known as the bathroom, looking for someone to help me.

I see her sitting on the floor in front of a mirror, winding pieces of her hair around a curling iron. "Guys, can one of you please do it? I'm kind of in the middle of something," she asked the boys, who are laying stretched out on our beds.

"At your service, milady," Jonah joked, as he stands up and walks up to me.

"Guys, you look awesome in those suits." I not my head at the tuxedos the boys are wearing.

"I know, pretty fancy, right? We picked it out with the help of Jack and Daniel." He posed for a minute, but then finally helped me with the zipper of my dress.

"Well, you look great. The ladies are gonna be laying on your feet," I joke.

"I hope to steal a dance from Tate, but we'll see." I can hear him smirking.

I gasp surprised. "I knew you liked her!"

"Well, we've hung out a couple of times in the last weeks, and she's the kindest girl ever. Not judgy what so ever, just open-minded." He chuckled, I didn't even know he could do that.

"Jonah Marais, crushing on a girl, who would've thought that." I sigh laughing.

He laughed as well. "I guess things change."

"They sure do." I softly whisper, as Jonah's finally ready zipping up the dress.

I turn around, and the mouths of the boys drop. I feel my cheeks starting to burn. "How do I look?" I shyly ask.

"You look absolutely flabbergasting, Liz." Zach smiled widely.

"Yeah, you're absolutely stunning. Corbyn's lucky to have you as his date," Jonah agreed with him.

"Speaking of him, we should really get going if we wanna meet him and his friends on time. Is everything about the plan clear?" I briefly ask them.

Their smiling faces immediately get serious again, and they all nod. "Everything's clear."

"Christina, you have your necessities?"

She nods again, and takes a little bottle filled with chloroform and some tissues out of her bag to show me.

"Perfect. Zach, you know what to say during your speech?" I turn to the brown-haired guy.

"It's just long enough to give you guys enough time to take care of business," he spoke.

"Good. I guess the only thing that's resting now is actually fulfilling the mission," I declare. "Guys, I need your full concentration and seriousness to be able to get through this. If we fail, we'll probably end up back in the dome, and we can't let that happen."

"No way I'm going back to that place. Let's do this," Christina spoke determined.

"Hell yeah," the two boys exclaimed at the same time.

This is the beginning of the end.
