As soon as the staff dropped off our stuff and left our new room again, Christina and i look at each other in disbelief, and burst into laughter. The whole room is bright pink, with sparkles and glitter everywhere. It looks like a princess pooped on the walls.
"Help me, I can't breathe!" Christina holds on to my shoulder, to try keeping herself from falling over. "Is this a joke or something, are there hidden camera's peeking at us?" She wipes tears away from her cheeks, her whole body shaking from laughing.
"I'm afraid not. This is hilarious, look at these pillows." I pick up the fluffy objects on the bed, that are straight up looking like dead cats, and throw them in the corner of the room, out of sight.
"I knew things were gonna be pretty fancy, but this is straight up hell." Christina throws herself on the gigantic bed on the left side of the room, so I put my stuff on the one on the right side.
"wWell, we're gonna have to deal with it for some time, until we have the code." I take my dirty shoes off and instead put my feet in white, soft slippers that are standing beside my bed. I have to admit, it feels kinda nice. Unusual, but nice.
"Are you nervous for tomorrow?" Christina then asked, wrapping herself in the silk blanket laying on her bed.
"Of course, it's our first day of school ever." I pause for a second. "But that's not what I'm most terrified of. I keep worrying about being able to do what we have to do. There's so much pressure, so much at stake, and I don't know if I can take it." I let out a deep sigh.
"Of course you can, you're a born leader. eEver since i remember you've been taking charge in whatever we did, making sure we were able to survive. You got this, Liz. And besides that, you're not alone." She gives me a warm smile.
"Yeah, you have us." Jonah and Zach are suddenly standing in our room, appearing out of nowhere.
Christina and I look confused at each other. "Where the hell did you came from? We locked the door."
"But only the front one. Haven't you noticed that door over there?" Zach points at the entrance. "It connects to our room, so we can always visit each other."
"That's perfect," I sigh relieved. Knowing I have my family close to me, feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
"Liz, you don't have to worry. We know what we have to do, so things are gonna be easy. As long as we have each other's backs." Jonah sits down next to me, and I put my head on his shoulder.
"I hope you're right."
Time skip
It's the middle of the night, but I'm still tossing and twitching in my bed, not able to catch sleep. My thoughts keep running circles in my mind, constantly reminding me about everybody counting on me.
Frustrated I throw the sheets off me, and tiptoe to the desk in the middle of our room, trying to not wake up Christina. I take the map laying on the surface and look for some place interesting to go to. I notice a library, so that's where I'm headed to. Let's see what we're dealing with here.
Time skip
After walking around in the enormous building trying to find my destination, I finally arrive at the library. It's very quiet in there, and lucky for me the entrance isn't locked. I sneak in, and immediately get overwhelmed by the amount of books I see in front of me. Shelves filled with encyclopedias and poetry books spread a delicious smell, and I can't help running my fingers over the spines of the books as I walk through them. I take the first one my fingers touch, open it up and sit down, and before I know it, I'm immersed in its story.
That's until a voice fills the room. "Hey, what are you doing here?"
