Zhongli X reader (fluff) the first sunrise

The last day of the year and in Liyue there was more than enough work.  Most of the poeple participated in the preparation of the celebrations at the end of the year.  You, Lumin, and Paimon rid the area of ​​monsters so that a parade to Mount Tainheng could take place safely in the morning, where small snacks would be prepared.

"These are the last!" You sighed and sat down on the nearest stone. "Um, we made it before the ceremony starts," Lumin smiled to herself and looked toward Liyue.

  "This js a sight!  But we should go and find something to eat.  Paimon is hungry ... "you still don't understand why paimon talks about herself in the third person, but for once you let it be and you just nod.

The way back was calm.  You found a common theme with Lumine, so it went fast.  It was getting dark and the streets were getting more and more crowded.  "Have you ever noticed that from a distance in the dark, Liyue looks like it's on fire?" You laughed. "Yes! Sometimes when I come back in the dark, I'm afraid something has happened!"  We laughed for a while before we reached the main gate.

,, Y / N! You will come to see the ceremony, I hope? "Oh well, he's back ..." Childe, hey! Of course I will! It will be my first time! "  You gave him a fake smile but he seems to be satisfied with that.  "Let me invite you to dinner before it all begins," he held out his hand to you and gave you a warm smile.

,, Slow Down, Child!  Y / N is getting ready to have dinner with us, and we don't have much time befor the ceremony starts. "Lumine grabbed my hand and headed for one of the restaurants. I didn't even have time to react.

"Ah, you must be the famous Travelers!" A deeper voice interrupted your thoughts. You turned to find out who it was. "Uhm! That's right! I'm Lumine, this is Y / N," Lumine pointed out.  on you.  You were still a little off.  You never really believed in love at first sight and things around it.  But God.  The man in front of you looked perfect.  High.  Dark hair.  Amazing voice.  You were just amazed. "And Paimon is! .... well..Paimon!" Yep, it's here. The usual Paimon with her mouth full of nonsense.

"Ah, I've heard a lot about you.  Gossip is spreading here.  I was waiting for a good opportunity to talk to you myself. "His voice was very calm and steady. You and Lumine just nodded and waited for him to continue.

"Today I would like us all to celebrate the arrival of a new beginning in peace, but tomorrow I would like to discuss with you ... one minor problem, but only if you agree." At the moment, you don't really care what the problem is and you quickly agree.  "Oh, I completely forgot to introduce myself, my name is Zhongli," he smiled.  You repeated his name in your head three more times so you wouldn't just forget him.

,, Y / N, Lumine!  The ceremony is almost over! " ,,Uhm, we should split up now. We need to check once more for any monsters on the route. Paimon and I will go to the back gate. Y / N- "Lumin gave you a look, suddenly ran over  looking at Zhongli and just smirked.  "Mister Zhongli would you mind accompany our Y / N?" Zhongli gave us both a look before smiling slightly and nodding.

There was silence all the way between you.  It was a rather awkward silence, or so it seemed to you.  On the other hand, you were glad to be here with him.  You felt more safe.  You were close enough to the top of the mountain and the area had cooled slightly.  Of course, you didn't admited that.  you shook from the cold  few times.  Not much, you didn't want Zhongli to notice anything. - “Are you cold?” -But he did. He stopped and turned.
"N-no, I'm all right ..." You said quietly. You were so nervous. Your face was a little red. Zhongli approached you and ran his hand over your face. "Looks like you're freezing, you'll be  sick ... "He spoke in a mild tone.  His voice was so soft and low.  He pulled his hand back just so he could take off his jacket and throw it over you.

There was a moment of silence between you.  "Do you know anything about flowers?" Zhongli asked out of nowhere. You looked at him confused. "N-no?"  It came out as a question rather than an answer, but now you won't save it anyway.  The rest of the trip he was telling you a lot of information about the flowers.  At that moment, you didn't care what the man was talking about.  You could listen to him all the time.  You found it quite cute how much he tried to have a conversation with you and how much he knew about flowers.  His voice was so calm that you could listen to him for another hour, but unfortunately you were already at the end of the road.

"It's unbelievable that there's peace everywhere," Zhongli began, staring into the distance. You just nodded and pulled his jacket closer.

You spent the rest of the time there on the mountain, talking about everything and nothing.  Zhongli included you with useless information that you loved, and you included him with your stories (and theoretically useless things as well).

"Here it is, the first sunrise in the new year," only now that Zhongli mentioned it did you realize it. The sun had already begun to rise. You spent the whole evening outside with Zhongli. And now? Now you're watching the sun rise for the first time in the new year.  It's unbelievable, the first rays of the sun will warm you up and you can't stop watching the amazing scene in front of you.

You looked at Zhongli to see if he was also watching what was happening.  But his gaze was on you.  Maybe it just came to you, but you saw a slight smile.  As soon as he noticed that you turned around, he looked away.  You didn't want to worry about it, so you moved again to watch the first sunrise.
Suddenly you felt the heat on your hands.  You looked down and then at Zhongli, but you decided to get everything from that moment, so you just put your head on his shoulder.

And so you sat there hand in hand until the first people started coming to continue the New Year celebrations.
