Zhongli x reader Hanahaki syndrome (happy end)

It all started when you meet Zhongli. It was nice day and Lumine asked you for help to get some special flowers for her. You of course agreed to help her and went to find those flowers.

It took you a while to find them but thankfully you did before sun went down. You were on the Wuwang Hill when you decide to take a break and catch your breath and that's the place where you meet him. His golden eyes looking through your soul. You had this weird feeling you didn't know how to call it but it was nice. When he noticed the flowers you were holding he decide to share it's history with you. Only thing you remember is that it is used to make healing potion and some perfumes. Not that you weren't listening. You were and you could listen to him for hours. His voice completely calm and deep. You just couldn't pay attention to his words.
But it was almost dark and you had to say your goodbye and go back to Lumine.

You meet her at Wanmin Restaurant talking with Childe. ,,Hello there!" He was first one who noticed you. You just gave him a small smile and waved at him. ,,Here. Flowers." You handed Lumine the flowers she asked for.

Few days later you discovered that Lumine knows Zhongli for some time now and you decided to hang around. But more time you spend with them you started to notice that they weren't talking just like friends..or maybe you were just paranoid? At first you didn't pay much attention to it but after some time you started feeling like the third wheel.

The problem started when you run to them by accident and saw them hugging each other. It broke your heart. You felt everything just breaking into millions of pieces. You quickly turned around and run home as fast as you could. Tears falling down your face. You locked yourself in bathroom since you didn't live alone. And that was the first time you cought up flower petals. You couldn't sleep at night and you stopped going out.

Yanfei -your friend who lives with you- soon noticed there's something wrong with you. After a while you decided to tell her that you can't fall asleep.
,,Need a cure for insomnia? Let me read you the history of the development of Liyue's legal system! None of my friends have ever lasted longer than 20 minutes!" She said kind of cheerfully. ,, That's not all...." You confessed. She waited for you to continue. You grabbed flower petals from you drawer. ,,O-oh.." she froze. She just heard stories about this and she didn't really know what to do. You told her what happened and she patiently listened.

,,I think you should give it a shot and confess...maybe it wasn't like that..." She thought out loud. ,,I mean...friends hug each other.."she continued. ,, You know I'm not that type who would just confess first..." You said while laying down and closing your eyes trying to ignore the pain in you lungs. ,,Y/N...I never really meet anyone with this syndrome.." ,,of course you didn't, all your friends are smart, good looking with great humor..." You muttered under your breath. She just signed. ,,I only read about it and if you won't do anything it might not end up good," she got up from your bad and was ready to leave. ,,Just...I don't know...try something. And please go on the fresh air tomorrow." She closed doors behind her. You let out all the air you didn't even know were holding. And tears started to making their way around your face. You spend the night thinking about what she said.

Next day you decided to finally go out just hoping every human/ god or anything that can talk will avoid you. You just took a walk didn't even though where. You just really needed to catch some air and try calm yourself. Your lungs hurting so much you had to stop few time. Once you though about returning home, you saw him. He was just standing there admiring that flower. On that place. You were there. He was there. It was like the first time except the feeling. Now you felt that everything in you were just breaking. You wanted to run away but you were unable to move. Then it started again. That stupid coughing. You couldn't stand that pain and you fell on your knees. Flower petals in hands. Tears on face. It caught his attention and as soon as he saw you he ran towards you.

,,Y/N! What's..." He looked at your hands. ,,..wrong .." he just whispered it. He knew. He knew too well what that means. You couldn't do anything. You tried to calm down just so you can think of something. Your body were shaking from everything.

,,Y/N...I never really meet anyone with this syndrome..I only read about it and if you won't do anything it might not end up good,"

,,Zhongli there's... there's something.." you had to catch your breath. He was patiently looking at you not knowing what exactly to do. You though about it for the last time before you started talking again. ,,I can't be just friend to you!" More tears now appeared on your face as you closed your eyes ready to be hit by the words of rejection. But instead he didn't say anything. He grabbed your hands which made you look at him in surprise and as soon as you looked up you felt his lips on yours.

It was like time stopped. Like everything stopped. The pain was finally over. You closed your eyes and returned the kiss.

You were on the same place were you meet first time and still destiny decided to bring you both here together again.
