Prologue

Scarlet Rose University. I don't quite know how I ended up here. Parang kailan lang, nag-aaral ako sa isang pangpublikong kolehiyo, tapos ngayon, papasok na ako sa pinaka-prestihiyosong paaralan sa bansa. Sounds fantastic, right? Well, minus the part where this school is swarmed with good-looking brats. That, I heard.

Every teenager like me wants to attend this school - the school of opportunity. Unfortunately, not all of us are given a chance. Unless you want to switch off your social life, study all night, wait until you transform into a rotting zombie, and nail that interview with the school's intimidating representative, you'd surely get in.

I was lucky enough to pass the entrance exam with only one try. Ilang beses na akong binigyan ng pagkakataon, pero ngayon ko lang sinubukan. Hanggang ngayon, nagdadalawang isip pa rin ako. Kung 'di lang kailangan, 'di naman ako papayag.

I never want to cross paths with that girl. Kailangan kong makatapos dito, kaya naman mananatili akong invisible para hindi ako magkaroon ng problema. I'll try my best not to be noticed by anyone, especially that Queen Bee. I have watched Mean Girls for gazillion times for me to know these things. I don't wanna be burned at the stake here 'pag di ko na-please ang reyna nila. How pathetic.

I did a little research on this school. Sabi nila, marami daw hot guys and charming girls sa paaralang 'to. Totoo naman 'yun dahil marami na akong nasalubong na mga nakauniporme gaya ko. Ang gaganda nila, medyo na-conscious tuloy ako dahil isa lang akong hamak na probinsiyana. Pero syempre, meron at merong namumukod tanging nilalang na nag-aaral dito. Ice is pretty famous. In fact, she even dated some of my favorite volleyball players, but she dumped them just because she wasn't satisfied. She was never satisfied. What a player. Literally and figuratively.

Yes, I always hear people babbling about this Cambria girl, but I never dared myself to see what she looks like. I would just be wasting my time. For me, she's only a brat with lots of money in the bank, nothing more.
