Author's Note: I'm so happy that I want to cry ;_;. I just released this new story and it's already almost at 1k reads. It has never happened to me before and I'm in shock.

Here's another chapter for everyone. Thank you very much ❤!

❃ Evangeline ❃

Vampires abhorred sunlight.

It did not burn them compared to other myths of vampires, in this world.

It simply made them very lethargic, and hence, it explains the reason why they slept in the day and were active at night. Their powers will weaken under the effects of the sunlight.

Since Aaron told me they were coming, despite it being the day, I decided to trust him. He had no reason to lie to me after all.

“Mint, Wind.”

“Yes, boss.”

“Yes, Evangeline.”

“Get all the employees to stay in the sunlight, doesn’t matter where even if it’s my office. Use your teleportation and telepathy to get everyone to move quickly.”

“Miss Evangeline…”

“Be quick, we are dealing with vampires here,” I glanced back at Mint and Wind, furrowing my eyebrows. “I do not want anyone working under me to get seriously injured, it would do no one any good.”

They hesitated.

It seemed like they did not want to leave me alone here.

“I’ll be fine,” I smiled at them. “And I’ll pay you extra for overworking.”

“Boss…”

“Go!”

Mint and Wind put their powers to work.

Those who Wind spoke via telepathy started moving.

Those who were panicking far too much were teleported away by Mint.

“Aaron, what are they here for?”

Aaron looked at me, opening his mouth and hesitating to speak.

“You don’t need to tell me every detail,” I waved it off, tugging my caramel blonde hair behind my ears. “I just need to know the important points.”

After all, I already knew who Aaron truly was from the novel.

He was the last remaining survivor of the vampire hunter clan, and the heirloom of the clan has been passed down to him.

It was a silver sword.

I just needed to know if he brought it along with him.

“I have something...that they desperately want to destroy,” Aaron started to say, clenching his fists. “I hid it somewhere safe, but they’ll capture me to torture me for information.”

Fortunately, this was still following according to the plot of the novel.

The vampires did not manage to destroy the silver sword. However, Aaron barely managed to escape from their grasp each time, either severely injured or losing a comrade from his harem.

Thus, I just needed to ensure that right now, the plot followed according to the original storyline.

The vampires will come for Aaron.
