❃ Evangeline ❃
In the end, I did not dare approach Segi to ask his purpose of sticking by my side first. Something in me just didn’t want to know what the answer was.
Moreover, Segi did not wake up until it was late in the afternoon, it seemed like he had a really good sleep on my bed. Seeing that, I did not have the heart to lecture him for getting his own room as soon as possible.
It was night time, and I decided to cook my own dinner. Since I always did everything by myself in my previous life, other than hiring a housekeeper to keep my house clean, it was simple enough.
"Eva."
I jumped, almost dropping the dirty plates I was washing in the sink.
"Why are you so shocked, Eva? You told me to call you that, didn't you?"
I spun around.
"It will take a little while for me to get used to someone calling my nickname, all I used to hear from you was "kyu" and--"
"..."
Segi tilted his head at me and I spun back as I closed my eyes, frowning.
"Why are you half-naked again?"
He was only wearing a pair of jeans.
"I like it, it's more convenient this way," Segi shrugged. "I'm tired of ruining my clothes with too much blood."
"Too much blood?" I gasped, my eyes bursting open as I turned back again. "What do you mean?"
Does he get hurt often?
Oh, of course he does, he is the villain.
However, he has been by my side these few weeks, and when he met Aaron as the rabbit, he did not disappear from my side to fight him.
Is someone hunting him?
"Are you hurt? Are you okay? Why would you bleed that much?" I walked towards him, concerned as I frowned deeply.
I did not see Aaron picking fights with Segi either, so Aaron was out of the equation.
I raised my hand, tilting his head from side to side.
"Eva, wait--"
"You are a strong vampire too...who could hurt you--"
"Eva."
I paused and looked straight into his onyx eyes that gleamed in amusement. He seemed to be laughing a little too.
"Why are you finding this funny?" I huffed. "I am honestly concerned."
"As much as I appreciate your concern," Segi spoke gently, his hand covering mine on his cheek. "There is no need to slap soap all over my face, right?"
"Oh."
I stiffened, looking at my hands covered in soap and Segi's handsome face stained with it as well. I blinked rapidly, showing a sheepish expression.
"Sorry, I was too caught up in the moment," I grabbed his hand that was on mine, pulling him along. "Come, I'll wash it off."
I heard Segi smiling behind me.
I was confused, wondering what he was smiling about.
“Don’t move.”
I washed my hands and proceeded to wipe off the stains on Segi's face.
