"GET OVER IT"
Those words echoed in his brain. Every thought of them, made him more furious than before. How could she, after everything the royals have done to him, not aknowledge his pain?
"Everyone is trash in this world, even her" He mumbled as he entered his room
She meant nothing to him, yet why did her words hurt so much?
But John wasn't mentally good enough to answer these questions, and he knew that. He was tired and betrayed. The last fight left him with bruises and deep cuts all over his body .
"It would really help, if this f*ck didn't use his powers to throw me from the window" he sighed as he headed to his bathroom to grab his medkit. The last few weeks he had learned to stitch and patch himself up, this way avoiding the threatening glare of Doc every time he entered the infirmary.
Even though he was clumsy as ever and the blood loss made it hard to concentrate,he managed to stitch his cuts and wrap his hands and upper back in bandages.
The pain was sharp, but he had got used to it. They were nights back when he was living as a cripple that he would have to sleep with a broken arm.
"Not so much have changed after all" John said to his reflection in the bathroom mirror. The reflection didn't answer.
Good,at least I'm not crazy yet.
Noticing the eyebags under his eyes, he wandered when was it the last time he had gotten a decent amount of sleep.
The flashbacks he had during the night made it hard for him to sleep. Some days he didn't even manage to close an eye.
But today's events had left him completely exhausted both mentally and physically ,so he decided to head to his bed.

John woke up early in the morning. It was the first time in a while that he had enjoyed a nice sleep.
"You are not the victim anymore" Seraphina's words echoed in his brain. Getting of the bed, he headed to the kitchen. He opened the fridge, which was.......empty. Of course, his mind was so occupied the last few days, that he had forgotten to buy groceries.
Guess I'll have to eat outside today.
He thought as he started to get dressed. He put his black hoodie on, along with his school pants and he made his way out of his school dorm.He wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. The fact that he saw two familiar figures leave the school as well didn't didn't change much about it. Arlo and Seraphina .

Flashback to earlier this morning, Seraphina's dorm.
Elaine tried to stop Seraphina from going to her meeting with the mysterious person who sent her that note. After Seraphina denied listening to her, she called Arlo asking him to come over and help talk Seraphina out of this. To her surprise though, Arlo decided that he would escort Seraphina to her meeting.
After Seraphina left, Arlo stayed back to tell something to Elaine.
"If I contact you before we manage to return, takes it as a sign that something went wrong. I need you to call John and convince him to come and help us. If we are talking about the same group from back then, only he will be able to save us" Arlo said
"But how do you know that he will agree?" Elaine asked
" I don't know anything about this maniac, I just hope that he still cares about Seraphina's well-being"

Present time, outside of Wellston
John quickened his place to increase the distance between the duo. He didn't want to do anything with them. He hated them to his guts. Both of them, betrayed him. Each of them in their own painful way.
Walking across Wellston, he ended up at the place where his only friendship begun. Boba tea .
How long has it been since he had Mango Boba tea?
An eternity. Painful memories started making their way into John's mind and, in a moment of weakness he left a single tear hit the floor.
He made his way in, and ordered his usual for a takeaway. He didn't feel like eating breakfast anyways. As he exited the shop, he took a sip from his favorite beverage. The taste seemed the same but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing.
His thoughts were interrupted by a phone call. Weird. The number was unknown. In any other case he would have dismissed the call, but something told him to pick it up.
"Who is it?"
"Hey John, this is Elaine and I-"
"I'm about to close the call"
"No wait! Please reconsider it"
"You have done the same to me. It seems only fair to return the favour."
"John please listen. Sera is in danger!!"
"---"
"Is this some kind of trick?"
"I swear,no!She went with Arlo to meet someone that had info around her ability"
"She has a god tier with her. I don't see the problem."
"Arlo promised to call me if something happened. And,as it seems they have been ambushed by the same group that invaded your house."
"The dampening group?"
"Yes"
"The address,now"
"I will send it to your inbox".

Apparently, the coffee shop was in the other side of the city.He didn't have an ability with him. It was impossible for him all the distance on foot. They would be dead before he could them. For a second time in his life, he was unable to save her.
"Damn it" he said
Memories of him and Seraphina started filling his brain and he began to panic. He felt his legs getting numb as collapsed to the ground. He didn't know the answer to why this was happening to him.
"Your power was given to you for a reason, and it's up to you to find out why" His father voice was heard inside his head
His eyes gleamed a fusing orange unexpectedly. His body seemed the aura that surrounded him. He quickly realised that his body had imitated Blyke's and Zeke's abilities.
He didn't question why he could suddenly do that. He didn't have time.
Reaching his pockets, he found something rather familiar.
The Joker's mask, the begging of all his burdens.
"Looks like there is still need for you" he said, chuckling to himself.
Combining both of his abilities he swifted through Wellston's rooftops.
