29 miles away from Wellston, in a relatively rural area there was once located a hospital. Soon after Ember's foundation the hospital was closed for unexplained reasons.

Its closure didn't attract much public attention, since there were countless hospitals scattered across Wellston.

Sooner or later, it got forgotten, like it never existed. With they public being unaware of its presence, the former-hospital it became one of the main readjustment bases of Ember. Among the individuals that where imprisoned there, none was able to get out.

Some of ember's mercenaries used to call it "rewriting chamber" ironically, a name perfectly suitable for the unwelcoming building.

Mercenaries guarded the place at all times, and none area was left uncovered either by them, or by a really complex surveillance system. Any effort to escape seemed futile, but there were attempts among the people that were held captive, even if they all failed miserably.

Each of the prisoners was monitored hourly and a specific mercenary was assigned to all of them, with each of their ability working as a counter to the one of the assigned prisoner.

Although, the number of mercenaries seemed to increase around a specific cell. And inside was a magenta-haired girl, laying unconscious.

The future didn't seem so bright for her.

"When will she wake up?" Kayden asked.

"We don't exactly know. In the last few days, there have been hours where she seemed barely conscious, but she loses her senses pretty fast after that" the masked figure said

"Her body seems to have a difficult time accepting the antidote" he continued

"We just have to ensure that we will be able to hold off against her, when the time comes"

The figure walked towards Kayden, placing a firm hand on his shoulder.

"Expect an invoice on your account in a few days. The higher-ups were pleased with your performance"

"R-Really? I'm glad"

"How is your boss doing?"

"Leilah? The b*tch hasn't woken up yet. What a weakling"

Under the mask, the facial characteristics of the figure seemed to harden.

"I was surprised that she never suspected me in the first place. But sh*t like this happens when you believe that there is still good in this world. You become weak and fragile" Kayden continued mockingly

Suddenly, Kayden felt a chill run down his left side, where the figure's arm was placed. He hadn't realize his grip yet.

But under his mask, his eyes seemed to emit a golden aura.

--!

He was freezing him to death. Did he also have a ice-type ability? How many abilities did he have?

"What are you doing?" Kayden asked in horror. He tried activating his ability multiple times, but with no success.

--!

"He asked me to run some errands for him today, and I used my teleport to finish them faster. Did he know that I can't use my ability after a certain amount of times?" Kayden thought in terror
