A few years later

"Mommy, are you there?"

It took a while for the woman to notice, and even longer for her to look down only to be met with her daughter's sleepy eyes.

"Honey, what are you doing up so early in the morning?" the woman said, picking up her 5 year old daughter, pulling her into a hug.

"It's the national's heroes day and I don't want to lose a single minute from it" the daughter said, resting her face into the warmth of her mother's shoulder.

Even if she was still young, she wasn't much of a morning person. She liked sleeping almost as much as spending time with her parents.Almost.

"Really?I totally forgot" the mother pretended to forget

"Silly mommy, how could you forget such an important day? Daddy is supposed to give an important speech today in the-"

"-Press conference" the mother said, completing her daughters words

"So you do remember!" the daughter said pouting.

Seeing her daughter so energetic and cheerful from the first hours of the day could make any mother smile. And she was no different.

"Mommy, why aren't you also giving a speech today? You are as strong as daddy is!" the daughter asked.

"We couldn't leave you alone today could we?" the mother said.

"But grandpa could look after me. I wouldn't be alone!" the daughter said, in a saddened tone.

"Emily where does this come from? Is  something troubling you?"

"I don't want you to lose the press conference for me mom. You work as hard as dad. I want you to feel praised too." Emily said, with tears forming in her eyes.

"Aw sweetheart, don't think like that." the mother said embracing her daughter.

"The only praise we care about is yours. Neither I or dad wanted to go today, but since your father started all of this, he needs to be an example for the future generations too."

"And since we have the day off, I thought that it would be a perfect mother-daughter day, since I'm always working. Plus grandpa William needs some rest too." she continued

"

Don't ever feel like you are holding us back, because you are the best thing that has happened to us." the mother said as she wiped Emily's tears.

"So, what do you want to do today?"

"Can we go for Boba tea?" Emily asked regaining her former excitement.

She is just like John. Boba tea is all that it takes to make them happy. But I guess, I'm not different.

"Sure"

Wellston change over the years was remarkable. Crime rates were steadily decreasing and ability amplifiers usage were for the most part, low. As for the discrimination towards the weak, it was still there. The only thing that changed was  that a lot more people were willing to stand up for the weak.

People started believing in equality. Most of them at least. Some refused to share their high position in the food chain.

Step by step, the world would become ideal, a place safe for the kids to grow without fearing whether they would be too weak for this world or not.

"Two mango boba tea orders are ready!"

Right, she got absorbed by her thoughts again. Luckily Emily didn't seem to notice. She was excited that she would get to see her dad on the TV.

For Emily, her parents were her heroes, even if most of the times, they saved a lot of people and not Emily herself. But she didn't care. Emily had the patience of her mother combined with the determination that accompanied her father, as her uncle Blyke had once said.

Isen on the other hand claimed that she would become an excellent author one day. "Her writing is way more advanced than kids at her age"was the exact words he had used. The day Emily called him Uncle he cried  his eyes out  despite his bet with Blyke that he wouldn't.

The waitress brought their order over to their table.

"This one is for Emily"

"That has to be me!" Emily said cheerfully

"And this one is for......."

"Seraphina"

Chapter End

Well, finals are finally over. My writing schedule will return soon(weekly updates) in about 1-2 weeks, meaning that the main story will be continued then

So, I decided to publish this oneshot I wrote during the finals period about a future AU that takes place about 10-15 years after Redemption ends.

I didn't plan on posting it, but after seeing that we've hit the 20k milestone, I couldn't think of another way to celebrate it properly.

Anyways thank you for 20k and until next time, stay safe.
