Back at Wellston, things were progressing smoothly, if anyone could actually say that. Since John's detention, Arlo had taken the mantle of King, to ensure order was maintained on Wellston's school grounds.
Although, the way he directed the school would be like night and day, if compared to the past.
Arlo himself seemed tired, with eyebags staring to appear right below his eyes. He had just consumed the fourth coffee for that day, and honestly it wasn't doing much in terms of keeping him awake. Needless to say, the last few days had been rather distressing for him, considering that you didn't get to have your ideals crushed every day.
He was still confused and hadn't managed to put his thoughts in a proper order. His mind was in shambles and refused to comprehend anything that had took place in the last few days.
It was the first time the god-tier had felt the agonizing pain that betrayal brought along. He felt the world shatter before his own feet ,while he felt all alone in this excruciating abyss that was appearing right before his own eyes. He felt helpless and perplexed ,unable to see any hint of light inside the dark tunnel life has brought him into.
....was this how John felt back then?
He completely despised the raven, but he had to admit; Thanks to him, he was able to become more cognizant of his surroundings. Despite the amount of negative feelings he was currently experiencing, he couldn't help but to feel grateful that he wasn't oblivious to the truth any longer.
The hierarchy wasn't what he always idolised it to be, that's for sure .People weren't looking up to you as a role-model, only as person they could leach from, just because you got the chance to rose above them. They put a nice front while you were around, but the moment you fall, their façade drops, and their true personality resurfaces.
Perhaps, Arlo had found a reason it would be worthy fighting for. It wasn't just an aspiration, because they themselves have a high stake of failing. Therefore he would make it a reality. Arlo decided he would become the person Rei aspired him to become.
Someone everyone could look up to.

Meanwhile, in an underground warehouse of Wellston ,whose location remained unknown to the public, the members of the infamous corporation that went by the name Ember, were summoned. An emergency meeting was called straight from the association's headquarters, making the gravity of the situation certainly, a lot more severe.
"What's the meaning of this, why did we get called out of the blue like that?" A crimson haired member asked
The displeasure among the members was blatant, since such a sudden meeting caused them to withdraw from their current missions and therefore lose time ,and money the contract promised if they succeeded on their goal earlier than expected.
What were the missions about?
Target extermination, of course. Ember was founded as a secret organisation which sole purpose was to exterminate targets and dirty their hands so the authorities didn't have to.
The room filled with chaotic silence as soon one of Ember's top-class assassins walked into the main hall. Her golden eyes gleamed across the room alerting everyone about her presence.
"Relax, Gavin all of you will be properly compensated for your withdrawal, so rest-assured, you won't lose your precious money" the woman said
