That week passed by, and boy had it been something. First, Heather had gone to the Slytherin tryouts, Snape was forcing them because they rest of the houses were holding them, and Pandora got into a duel-turned-fist fight with Marcus Flint, again. Then, Roger Davies came to me at breakfast and apologized, albeit quite annoyed, and then agreed to be our Ravenclaw Quidditch consultant. Then, Colin had finished up with the first year portraits and started to help us write out some of the articles.
Tamara had to suffer through an interview with Lockhart, most information, unless necessary or comical, she left out of her final draft of the article. I felt awful for her, but very thankful that I had not been her. It was between the two of us to interview him because neither of us found him attractive, and I'd been busy editing my page on the Gryffindor tryouts. Or so I'd said.
And I'd had to listen to Heather tell me that she heard from Jaqueline that Draco has said that Pansy had heard that Davies had mentioned that Luna had overheard Padma Patil telling Lavender Brown that Ron Weasley had seen a note that said that George Weasley had told someone that he heard from Angelina that Jodie Barker had told her that Cedric and Cho had been caught snogging by Susan Bones in the third floor corridor, for literal hours on end.
She had wanted me to help her figure out which gossip and rumors we'd actually publish, and Merlin did she have some wild ones.
There was the rumor that Draco secretly dyed his hair that shade of blonde, and we'd put that one in the maybe pile. I doubted it was true, since I'd seen his father, but you never know with kids these days. Maybe he dyed to look more like his father or something.
Then, of course, there was the hot topic of discussion of Fred Weasley and Angelina Johnson. They had quite the secret fanbase brewing here at Hogwarts as he had begun to trip over air whenever she entered a room, and he'd become increasingly annoyed that she wasn't taking his advances seriously.
The idea of George and I had sort of been put on the back burner for most people since Cedric and Cho had possibly become and item and we were all rooting for Fred to make a move that would make Angelina realize he was for real.
Oh, and there was the fact that, and this was the truth, Leilani had gotten into a heated argument with one of her dormmates, and we weren't sure who, but they'd jinxed her robes to be one size too small whenever she put them on. Not saying I agree with what the dormmate did, but I can see where she was coming from.
And I can't forget that someone saw Oliver Wood practicing the Mufflito charm the other day in-between classes. This meant that he was either planning on hooking up with someone or planning on talking some serious shit about someone and he didn't want there to be a chance of anyone overhearing it.
There were also the couples that people were hoping to see come into fruition as the year went on. There were a few rooting for Cedric and I, and a few more for George and I. However, there were a few voting for Heather and the flustered Ravenclaw boy from our Herbology class. And, one that I liked the idea of most, was Wesley and Tamara. There were others like the ones I mentioned before, but it was quite interesting to see what everyone else is talking about.
Not to mention that, even though it would probably never make it into a single copy of Hog-Gossip, we'd given everyone official names to work under.
