Juniper's POV:
A few weeks later...
I stared up at the dark ceiling of the dorm room, the other girls around me still sleeping soundly. I didn't have to be out of bed for a long while now, but I just couldn't go back to sleep. I was nervous for what today would bring. It was my first ever trip to Hogsmeade and I had a date to go along with me. I almost didn't want to go, perhaps I could just make up a lie and just hang out here in the common room until I know for sure that everyone else had left.
I sat up in bed, pushing back the patchwork quilt and ran my hands roughly through my tangled hair. I knew that no matter how nervous I was that I couldn't just not go. I had promised not only Adrian, but Cedric, that I would go this time.
I went to my trunk and pulled out something other than my house robes, that I had gotten too used to wearing over the last two and a half years. I grabbed a handful of clothes and my bag of toiletries and headed into the Hufflepuff girls' bathroom to get dressed. I snuck through the empty dorm and carefully shut the door behind me as not to wake up my dormmates. I clutched the clothes to my chest as I tip-toed through the wall until I came to the girls bathroom. I stepped inside and found a stall to change in. I pulled my gown over my head and tossed is aside before slipping into a pair of old jeans and a comfy jumper that I'd had for several years now.
I slipped out of the stall, almost wishing that I would've just brought my socks and shoes with me, but not really caring enough as I struggled to fight the tired from my eyes. I glances at my reflection in the mirror, still happy to see that it no longer had a sling or the ugly dark bruise across its face. The bruise was now barely visible and the only thing that looked really out of place was the missing tooth that I had lied to George about.
I had told him that it was already loose and he believed me. The more obvious truth was that he had knocked it out, but I wasn't going to tell him that. I could tell by the look on his face that he already felt bad enough, even though Fred seemed to find the whole thing hilarious. Hopefully, he wouldn't noticed that it was never going to grow back.
I smiled to myself before brushing my teeth and pulling my hair back with a white ribbon that sort of matched my jumper, but no one was really going to noticed if it didn't because before we left I would be putting a coat on over top of it anyways. I sprayed myself with a light perfume that I may have stolen from Rosemary's room before this year started (not that she would know since she moved to France last year and had only come to visit on Christmas) before I snuck back into the dorm room.
I put my gown and bag away before pulling on some thick socks and my boots that had been passed down to me from Rosemary once she outgrew them. I couldn't remember how long it had been at this point, but it didn't matter, they still fit and they served their purpose.
I once again, crept out of the dorm that was silent all except for the sound of Heather Dewey snoring. She claimed that she didn't, but any of the girls in this dorm, if not the next one over, knew the truth. I shut the door behind me, not surprised to see Cedric already down in the common room. He sent me a smile and we silently nodded to one another before I slipped down to the great hall for breakfast. He would be there soon, it was our tradition to eat together in the mornings because we hadn't had a first period class together since first year and we had gotten a bit fed up of only being able to see each other in a class or two before dinner and then heading off to bed.
I had been wondering what he was doing sat down there on the couch by himself every morning, but I didn't feel like asking, because knowing Cedric, it would be a simple answer, but he'd have to tell me six different stories that branched off onto their own four stories a piece so I knew the backstory to why he was doing what he was doing.
