"You two, please step outside, I will be there in a moment," Professor Sprout sighed, her hand rubbing her face roughly in exasperation.I don't know what she expected, honestly. I thought that she had planned for us to make a mess of things, but now I wasn't so sure. Perhaps she actually thought that we could get this done. Either way, she was wrong.
I shook my head as I walked out of the greenhouse and into the chilly afternoon air. I had no idea how we were going to get this stink off. It was like the offensive scent of something that had died quite a few days ago and you're just now finding it after it practically cooked in the hot summer sun. I refused to show up to charms, or anywhere really, until this smell was gone, and I don't care what I have to do to get rid of it.
George was still roughly rubbing at his face, and I didn't have the heart to tell him how much was in his hair. The bright orange had been completely masked by thick green sludge and the way that it had begun to drip down, his one of his ears completely from view. And I thought I had it bad...
"You better thank Merlin that Snape already snatched the two of you up for this afternoon or you'd me out here scrubbing this greenhouse until your bones show through," Sprout said as she stepped out with us, still keeping a bit of distance, "But I suppose this was partially my fault, so I will help you two fix yourselves up."
"Please tell me that whatever you're going to tell us is going to get the stink out too." George groaned and I felt the dragon attempting to clean himself off in my damp pocket.
"Yes, but I doubt you two are going to like it very much. Well, you might Mr. Weasley, but I'm sure that Ms. Clemonte will not be very pleased." Sprout said, shaking her head, "Follow me, and try not to touch anything until we get where we are going."
I was not excited to see what we were going to have to do, but I was overjoyed to soon be free of this goop.
We followed closely behind Professor Sprout, keeping just enough distance so the smell wasn't overpowering her, but close enough that we didn't loose her in the ever curving hallways. Sometimes I thought that the staircases weren't the only things that changed up every so often.
We traveled up staircases and down several more corridors without running into anyone, which would've been odd if it weren't for the fact that everyone was in class at the moment. However, that wasn't bothering me as much as the realization of where she was taking us.
We were on the fifth floor, in the Hospital Tower corridor, and we had just passed the statue of Boris the Bewildered. Professor Sprout was taking us to the prefect's bathroom.
For obvious reasons, I'd never been in here, but I knew precisely where it was thanks to Rosemary who had been a Ravenclaw Prefect and Head Girl when she had been here at Hogwarts. She had told me how cool it was and just how much better it was than the bathrooms in the dorms. The only issue she had with it was the fact that Moaning Myrtle could often be found swimming around with the students in the bath and it made her uncomfortable.
I had always wanted to go, but she didn't want to risk getting in trouble because she gave me the password.
Professor Sprout stopped in front of the door and whispered the password so that neither me nor George could hear her. The door swung open and I was left speechless. I forgot about the goop and the fact that there were two other people here with me for a solid few minutes. This bathroom was nicer than anywhere else in the castle, nicer than anything I'd ever seen.
One thought crossed my mind, but before it could make it passed my lips, George spoke it into being.
"Bloody hell...I think it'd be worth becoming a prefect just to use this bathroom instead of those manky old ones in the dorms."
