I stared at my reflection in the mirror, turning from side to side, gazing at my malnourished cheek bones. They seemed to be getting less skinny, adding some more fat onto them which was a good sign. My eyes had dark circles under them, the nightmares that kept me up, never actually going away.
There were only some nights when I didn't wake up from a nightmare. Those days were of course my happiest days, ones where I'd felt more joyful than others. Sadly, those were rare.
I raised my hand up to my eye, pulling down underneath it, looking thoughtfully at those dark circles. I frowned slightly, wondering when the next full night of sleep I'd get would be.
I slipped on a simple, yet stylish outfit. A black and white striped long sleeve shirt, a t-shirt on top that was white and had a wave on it. Then some dark blue, high wasted jeans.
I smiled softly, spraying perfume and putting deodorant on along with my makeup, while heading out of my bathroom and down towards the kitchen.I waved to everyone that sat down there, each of them enjoying their lunch while scrolling mindlessly on their phone. I looked up at them, "Is that all you do?" I asked accusingly, smirking a bit while pulling down a bowl and the cereal box.
Ryder sniggered, most likely agreeing with me. "Oh, that reminds me.." Luke recalled, smiling a bit and pulling another phone out of his pocket. "For you." He smiled, handing over an IPhone 8. My eyes widened when he pressed it into my hands, my mouth hung open in shock. "For me?" I squealed in a high pitched voice.
Zach broke my phone two years ago so I've been stuck without one since then. I suddenly realized how much this must've cost him. "Nope, I won't take it. That had to have cost a fortune." I handed it back over to him, while taking a bite into my cereal.
He rolled his eyes playfully, while thrusting it into my hand again. "Just take it please, I already put everyone's numbers in it anyways." He sighed, biting into his sandwich. I held onto it carefully, making sure not to drop it into my cereal.
I looked to him, and stood up, embracing him in a side hug. Hugging was still new to me, so I wasn't really sure how to hug properly yet. He chuckled softly, hugging me back and patting my head. I thanked him over and over, munching on my cereal happily.
"Why are you dressed up?" Brandon asked, furrowing his eyebrows. I straightened up a bit, while clearing my throat. I had already told all of them that my mom stopped by, I only told Luke and Blake though that I was meeting up with her today.
"I agreed to meet up with my mother and talk to her." I stated, sounding much more confident than I really was. He opened his mouth up wide, his eyebrows creasing in anger. "Why they hell would you do that?" He yelled, outraged. "You realize what she did to you right? What if it's a trap, and she's leading you back there!" He exclaimed, throwing his spoon down, fuming with anger and concern.
